Big Finish Announces UNIT Audio Series Starring Kate Stewart

Not worth it's own thread yet but BF have confirmed on their latest Podcast that "Kate Stewart is not the only character from the New Series we have licensed".

The question is does that mean they've Osgood (or god help us Lee Evans) for the UNIT series or do they mean something completely seperate? (I suspect the former.)

Sorry, that isn't what was said at all. What Nick said was that Kate isn't the last character they will license from New Who. The way you've misquoted him, it sounds like it's already signed. It isn't.

How substantiated is this?

Well, I've been a big fan since 1976 and I have no interest whatsoever in audio stories. I know around 25 people who are Who fans and not a single one has any interest in audio stories either (yes, I asked).
Maybe it's just an American thing, but I think that's a decent size sample group.
Yea, just looking at board member activity of posters for TV Who and Audio Who, I can see at least a 10:1 ratio, and I wouldn't be surprised, if you extrapolated that out to All viewers and got as low as 100:1 Ratio.

I love the Audios, but, many (Even some I have tried to indoctrinate) just can't get into Audios, let alone seek them out on their own if they enjoyed one at one point.

I suppose it might depend on how and when each fan got seriously into Who in the first place. I started recording in 1988, 28 episodes later it was finished. But that allowed me to catch up via repeats and out of sequence videos - but that made paying for a 'new' story every month, from a random Doctor a common feature in my fandom. That carried over to audio, be it missing audios or new Big Finish.

So personally I can't imagine Doctor Who without Big Finish. What would I have done for the past 16 years - read?

Still, glad I was there for the start.

Incidentally, some of the biggest, outspoken fans have no time for audio Who either, but then I think they have not even 100 minutes of Paul McGann's Doctor, I must have close to 100 hours.
