Big Finish announce 60th Anniversary epic "Once and Future"

They updated the cast list to confirm it's Dudman. Which I was pretty sure of but he does sound different from his usual 11th Doctor voice.

Well, it's limped to it's conclusion now with no last minute shocks or surprises to try and redeem the series.

The "revelation" of The Union`s identity is both depressing and hilarious and in retrospect blindingly obvious.

And if we didn't know there was one more part to come in a mere 13 months, you certainly wouldn't be left expecting one.

Two swings, two misses. I know you can’t expect lightning to strike every anniversary, but this is getting disheartening.

It's incredible that the relatively underwhelming The Light at the End is gonna end up beating this series as the better anniversary thing from BF. You'd think in ten years they\d have gotten a better idea for an anniversary release...nope!

And you thought Genesis of Terror was Big Finish’s biggest blunder

from the cockup with the SE packages, to the lacklustre stories, and frankly bizzare character combinations, this range is cursed.

and to think they want people to come back in over a year to listen to one more episode!

Today, a mere five months after everyone stopped thinking about Once and Future, I got my CD copies of parts six and seven in the mail.

One of the many weird things about this series is that Big Finish made no effort to provide customers who bought the limited editions with matching numbers across the seven parts. Nor do the replacement slipcases they released for the first few have the same numbers as the original versions.

Big Finish have announced the cast for the final part of Once and Future: Jo Martin as the Fugitive Doctor and Jonathan Carley as the War Doctor, plus Lisa Bowerman as Benny and Chase Masterson as Vienna Salvatori.

Fantastic!

...I still need to listen to the rest of the entries.

And The Ninth Doctor adventures.

And The Fugitive Doctor adventures (those are out now, right?).

And catch up on The Eight Doctor and The War Master and everyone else...

:sigh:

Ah, I stand corrected. Like I said, I'm so completely behind that I've lost track of what's out and what's not.

So this final entry of Once and Future will be her first release then?

Seems like it.

Mind you, I've not listened to the 60th anniversary series at all (mainly because, the way I see it, and after what I've heard, The Day of the Doctor does a much better treatment of the premise this series seems to be handling in a rather fan-gasm sense).
