It also opens the question, did Leonard take advantage of Penny being drunk and skipped the birth control for the opportunity to get her pregnant. It is an ugly ending.
Why wasn't she on the pill or implants.......why reply on the untrustworthy men? Lighten up it is a sitcom......they thought they were giving fans a happy ending....well some of us were happy with it. And for bonus points....they ain't in Alabama....but that would have been a dark ending.

did Leonard take advantage of Penny

Jesus Christ are you implying that Leonard sexually assaulted Penny? Taking Advantage of her as you said?

This is Big Bang Theory, a light hearted comedy, not some Lifetime drama.

The Penny/baby thing was pretty bad. And I might even excuse the inane hand-waving if it wasn't for this episode doing the exact same shit that drove me away from the show in the first place. This time, though, it was over and actor/character of whom I'm especially fond.

But it's the same old thing where one of the male main characters initiates in predatory behavior against someone (By violating her privacy.), is rewarded for it, and then persists in the creepiness. But it's all presented under the pretense of being "okay" because he's adorkable and "harmless." And that makes it funny. This really wasn't kosher 12 years ago, but it's beyond the pale in 2019.

The real tragedy is the scene at the end was otherwise very touching. Unfortunately, I was completely taken out of it because my brain was screaming, "Jesus Christ, Sarah! Just stake the little fucker already."

So yeah. Excuse me while I headdesk over Penny's baby.

Yup, when the handwaving of 'it's just a comedy' is taken away, the guys on this show are pretty terrible. That ending for Penny was a real stinker.

I have been watching 90s shows recently, like Frasier. Funny as hell, holds up pretty well, but the Crane brothers are awful and creepy. Plus the slut shaming of Roz is just bad and then they have stupid awful trans jokes.

Big Bang Theory is stuck in the 90s. Not an excuse but it is what it is.

I love Frasier. I think it's one of the best and funniest sitcoms ever made. But, yeah, viewed in retrospect, Frasier's an insensitive and judgmental asshole and Niles' behavior toward Daphne all those years before they got together is reprehensible. It can occasionally be an uncomfortable series to watch. Yet, I still love it, flaws and all.

I think we were supposed to realize that during Frasier's run.... not too different from the producers and writers of All in the Family knowing many viewers wouldn't like Archie's attitude and language...

It WASN'T a "stinker" for a vast majority of the fans, and more important, Kaley was very happy with her ending.

Appeals to popularity don't change it being a stinker that they did away with Penny's agency of choosing to be childless and turned her into Mr Dib's baby factory. And appeals to the actress are just as meaningless. She had said she was happy Penny wasn't going to have children. She's a professional. Kaley isn't going to bite the hand that feeds her.

And in an era actively curbing women's freedom of choice, taking away Penny's choice is an ugly stinker.

It was ok, checked all the expected boxes and a good conclusion to the show. It was nothing groundbreaking but then again the show wasn't groundbreaking for years but once someone invests years watching the show they tend to stick to it until the end unless the show takes such a massive nose dive that everybody is abandoning ship and this was not the case with TBBT (at least in my opinion).

Raised my glass at the end, had some really big laughs with the show and am not too sad that it's done.

Frasier was about as close to a BBC comedy as I've seen from an American network. Yeah, the characters were all problematic. They were supposed to be, and that's fine. If anything, the show lost a step toward the end when they got a little too sentimental about it all.

Your agenda trumps story and the creatives ideas, I guess.

(creatives = writers, producers, actors)

This is the Internet - the opinions of those who can do, and have done, mean next to nothing against the mob.
