Bibleman and superheros with religion?

^I did enjoy the appearance of Daniel in JLA. And Scott Free and J'onn in Sandman, long before that. Presumably Books of Magic is in the DCU as well, and I want to think John Constantine either showed up in or was namechecked in Day of Vegeance (where was God on that one, anyway?).

Anyway, that does explain how I didn't know it. I kind of gave up on Lucifer. My girlfriend loves it, but I found the ancillary characters and endless tangents frustrating. Sandman was a story about stories, so Neil Gaiman could get away with that stuff; Lucifer's a story about Luficer, and for my money Mike Carey couldn't.

That said, I've got all of the trades around, one of these days I'll get to them.

I wonder how that squares with the end of the Spectre, however, where Jim Corrigan effectively talks his God to death by calling him out on his own flaws. The Spectre is clearly an agent of God, but cannot really communicate with him--then again, maybe Hal Jordan was able to, he's able to do everything else, including get retconned back into a good guy.

The Presence moves in mysterious ways, I guess.:p

You know, I have always wonderd, if there was a REAL life superhero like superman or MIRACLEMAN would people WORSHIP said HERO?

I have seen Bibleman and it does seem lame. Now if you really want a good laugh check out Davey and Goliath. It is a show about a kid and his dog that talks and sounds like a retard. I am fascinated with this show. It actually has a good message for kids, but when the dog starts talking it is a hoot.

There are people today who will worship a person merely because they claim to be god, or the son/prophet of god, or an emissary of hyperadvanced aliens who once posed as god... so, yeah, I imagine there would be people who would worship a person who can actually do remarkable things instead of merely talking about it ad nauseum. I mean, if fucking Jim Jones or David Koresh can snag themselves hundreds of followers, Superman ought to be able to do much better! Of course, the flip side of that is that you'll also have fundy nutters beating their breasts because they think the superhero is a spawn of Satan, or the antiChrist, or whatever; so gullible idiocy cuts both ways.

Fictitiously yours, Trent Roman

Davey and Goliath were made by Gumby creator Art Clokey. He made them for the Lutheran Church.

Goliath : Why are your parents taking us to this 'Angel Investigations' place anyway, Daaa--vey?

Angel : Wesley, Gunn--be sure and take out the dog in one shot.

I prefer ''Moral Oral'' over Davey & Goliath. Besides on D&G they never put Goliath to ''sleep''
I know a couple of people, strict Christians, that actually think that Morel Orel is a good show cause they see a message of "No matter how bad the world is, how many people grind you down, you keep your faith and you do what is right and good and trust in god." Of course they do have a problem with a couple of the episodes-- naturally-- but over all they like the show.

Me, personally, I just watch it cause it was the best thing Adult Swim-- excuse me [adult swim]-- has put out in years. The final episode was ajust a kick in the gut and wasn't what I was expecting at all, especially the part with Orel and his action-figures and cameras.

I prefer Mad TV's version.

Oh, Great! Go prefer a team of experienced, professional comedy actors and writers over me! Great going, PAL! :D
