So again, why didn't Darrin take the bait when he was offered to be made a warlock (assuming that offer was genuine)? Is there somethng he would have had to give up in return?
I mean, if he becomes a warlock, he'd presumably live forever*, so he would basically have an immortal relationship with Samantha. Why wouldn't he want that? And as I said, it would spare her the pain of losing him, although I guess we can assume she'd already prepared herself for that eventuality when she married Darrin.
* Assuming witches and warlocks do in fact live forever in this universe, when do they stop aging? I mean, it's not like Adam and Tabitha would remain children for eternity...
Well, maybe they don't live forever but we can assume that they live for a very long time. I think Darrin thinks that being a witch/warlock is kinda immoral. Because you get things without having to work for them. I guess it's kind of a metaphor for people who inherit their wealth without having had to work for it. Among the clients of Darrin, there are often very rich people who also happen to be assholes. Maybe the show is trying to make a point about people who work for their money and those who don't.
