Beverly Crusher is a [spoiler] - change my mind.

First off, I want to say Star Trek Picard is STRAIGHT FIRE. I think the best over all series of the franchise, the writers and set designers, especially with the new touch screen LCAR panels - and with the old cast coming back this season from TNG - it's been one hell of a great season.

I got to thinking and I think Beverely Crusher is a changeling. It would be easy for them to torture/drug the original Beverely Crusher to get personal information and then all of a sudden contact Picard under this ruse that they are in trouble - all while there is a huge terrorist plot in the works for Frontier day. With Jack Crushers' symptoms and issues, I think he is a creation from Beverely's original DNA and the DNA from Picards' human remains kept on Daistrum. The timing of contacting Picard and KNOWING Picard would drop everything to save her combined with Beverely and Picard not talking for over 20 years just leaves too much to be coincidences. The Changelings also know so much time has passed since they have talked, little things wouldn't be picked up or would be passed off as not talking for over 20 years. Also if you notice that Beverely NEVER talks about old times like all the other crew has, even during casual conversation.

Change my mind.

I don't watch it but I know Picard and Crusher had some conversations about the past few decades and Picard Jnr once they were reunited and it would make that stuff meaningless if it's just been Picard talking to a bucket of goo. So I don't buy it.
Also this thread title is probably a spoiler, right?

I've just been hoping for ONE reference to Blazin Bev, and so far nada

I don't know about Bev being a changeling, but I do wonder about the voice Jack hears in his head—which sounds like Beverly—saying "Find me" or something like that. If that really is her with him on the Titan, what's up with that?

The problem with this theory is it questions when "Original Beverly" was replaced..because the message to Picard referenced (a retconned) event from BoBW that only someone on the Enterprise-D would have known, and its unlikely the Changlings even would have known to ask about it.

Its a very Trek theory though, I give it that!

Crusher fought off (and killed) a whole bunch of Changelings in the first episode. If she is a Changeling she is a traitor or she is a Changeling who isn’t aware that she is a Changeling.

Maybe only her body is made of Changeling goo and her real head is attached to that undetectable super-goo.

Maybe Jack’s and Beverly’s minds got switched during a vulcan freak ceremony, without of them realizing it…

Maybe she and the rest of the crew are from a parallel universe, where Star Trek shows still kick-ass.

I really, really hope none of Our Heroes turns out to be a changeling - that would be pretty cheap and irritating. The thing that gives me pause is the moment in...I forget which episode...where Beverly and someone are discussing changelings and the camera zooms in on Beverly as she says they could be "anyone". Hopefully that dramatic camera zoom was some sort of weird direction choice or a particularly annoying red herring, rather than a pointer that she's not who she seems.

Aside: There are no words to describe how much I detested "Sub Rosa". Loathed it then, loathe it now.
