Best/Worst-looking alien makeup in all of Trek

Trek is known for its "forehead of the week" aliens, or their "tweak-a-small-feature" aliens (not even counting those alien races who happen to look exactly human, even in TNG time frame.)

My vote for the "best" would be the Yridians from TNG. They do seem to be the most "alien" looking aliens on all of Trek, considering their limitation of only human actors.

For the worst, I used to name the Andorians (typical 50s/60s pulp alien archetype), but they've grown on me since they were updated for "Enterprise." Now, I don't think you could get any worse than that alien backwards-talking smuggler who tried to help McCoy in TSFS.

Others?

My favorites would include the Cardassians, and the Vulcans from TOS. In TNG they looked too artificial. For its time the Talosians were quite well done. I really liked the Vorta, but that may have had much to do with Jeffrey Combs' performance.

I thought the Cheronites (?) from TOS Let that be Your Last Battlefield were kind of hokey looking, but I think much of that had to do with the points they were making about prejudice, so I'll give them a pass.

I think DS9 did a really good job when it came to the aliens. The Vorta and Cardassians and Jem Hadar are probably the best looking aliens in the ST.

I feel like it would be too easy to pick the worst. Just watch any episode of TOS.

Best: While I'm not much for the show, I must say that the Xindi-Reptillians on Enterprise were some seriously cool looking aliens.

Worst: Risans. Sticker on forehead... "All that is ours is yours"... Done.

Was the Risan forehead supposed to be a biological feature?
I had always assumed it was just a sticker that indicated what kind of sex they were in the mood for, or something cultural like that.

I never thought of that! Could have been. Maybe it was a scratch 'n' sniff sticker full of pheromones. :)

well....for inventiveness I'd choose the Nacene from Voyager--the Caretaker and Suspiria (I'm assuming CGI aliens are ok).

For worst I pick these losers from TNG (the Bre'elians from Deja Q):

Best might have to go to the Cardassians, though I do also like the Trill (spotted variant) and ENT-style Andorians.

Worst has to be the Blingons.

Hilariously, I was just coming here to nominate the new Klingons as the best - they made Trek's longtime latex pie-heads into believable alien baddies.

Far more realistic foreheads, awesome blue eyes and vaguely elfin wispy ears. Neville Page did great job (as he did with all the ST'09/ID aliens)

Worst for me has to be some of the Voyager aliens of the week, whose forehead bumps served zero purpose.

To me, the worst were when they weren't being creative. For example, the Wadi in the DS9 episode Move Along Home

Sarjenka from TNG's "Pen Pals" is always at the top of my list for the worst.
Oh no, I loved her makeup.

Best is the Cardassians, we saw they week after week, sometime in extreme close up.

Worst, I can't remember the species name, but the tip of their noses were connected to the point of their chins. How were they supposed to eat corn on the cob?

:)

Best: The Cardassians.

Worst: The Tweedle-Dee and Tweedle Dumb looking aliens from The Hierarchy on Voyager.

For the worst, I would say Dirgo in Final Mission. The alien woman in the same episode was ugly, but at least it was a sophisticated and well-done job. Dirgo's make-up just look like nothing.
