Best: Not really stock footage, but I loved how seamlessly the DS9 crew fit into the shots used for “The Trouble with Tribbles”.
Yes, that was beautifully done, and they should have won an Emmy.

We even saw the same spacesuited guy doing a forward flip and waving the ship goodbye. Did Starfleet have a designated acrobat/waver?Worst: The TMP dry-dock scenes re-used for TWOK.
Classic example of spending your money in the wrong place. The Stellar Cartography scene was largely exposition. There's no way it needed such an expansive set. Particularly when the climax of the movie was basically just three guys fighting on a jungle gym.
Yes. Pretty sure he was at the Enterprise NX-01's launch, too!We even saw the same spacesuited guy doing a forward flip and waving the ship goodbye. Did Starfleet have a designated acrobat/waver?
Strong union.Yes. Pretty sure he was at the Enterprise NX-01's launch, too!
I forgot about that one! What the F did Tuvok go though before joining the USS Voyager???Best for me is the Voyager ep that uses snippets from Event Horizon. Because if you didn't know, it would just seem like horror shit that they made themselves.
^I never understood why they even bothered making new uniforms for GEN. The TNG uniforms were fine and actually fit the cast. Frakes looked ridiculous in Brooks’ DS9 costume.
.Actually I was referring not to the DS9 uniforms (which I agree were used for no good reason), but an actual new alternative style of uniform made but not used, except for some early Playmates action figure toys.

I LOVE that TMP photon torpedo effect, and thought it looked awesome in Generations (and VOY: "Flashback" where it appears too)I hated the photon torpedo effect in Generations. I would've been fine with the standard TNG type photon torpedo effects (if there had been more of them) but I remember reading someone doing the effects thought the photon torpedo effect used in The Motion Picture "looked cool" with all those rays of light emanating from them.
So he was inspired by a minor special effect used in a movie made during the 1970s!!!!
MAN, that movie made a lot of dumb decisions. The stellar cartography set, the HMS Enterprise, and the ultimately unused new GEN uniforms were what blew most of the budget.
Agreed. It looks pretty, but it really doesn't have anything to do with the story being told.I remember on the commentary David Carson is so proud of having fought for the sailing ship opening even though Paramount wanted it dropped for taking up a disproportionate amount of the schedule and budget and all I could think was "They were right mate, that money and time could have been better spent elsewhere".
Yeah, that scene just makes me think that Geordi and the others are the ones who really need emotion chips installed. Crusher getting pushed overboard was funny as hell. The only way it would not be funny is if she was actually injured. (Which come to think of it, might be a traumatic enough event for Data to believably drive him to install the emotion chip).Well, except for people telling Data that pushing Crusher overboard wasn't funny. Because I got a good laugh out of that...
...Why? I don't understand why anyone would think that was needed. Do they say they were firing phasers when they're weren't, or something?By the way, has anyone seen the Star Trek: The Undiscovered Country battle "phaser additions" footage on youtube? Someone went back and added phaser fire coming from Excelsior and Enterprise in addition to the photon torpedoes fired in the original version of the movie.
They wanted the movie to have a different look. Also, the plan was that the new uniforms would be used on Voyager. When the new uniforms were abandoned, the decision was made to use DS9 uniforms instead to make Generations look different from TNG, although that created a whole mess of problems.Ah, yes. I’ve seen those before. In any event, the TNG uniforms were fine for GEN. Using different uniforms didn’t make sense, especially given that the TNG uniforms were still being used on DS9 by characters not assigned to the station.

"This isn't what I personally would have done, therefore it's wrong!"![]()
