I'm rewatching the series and just finished season 3. Honestly up to this point, Chakotay doesn't seem that bad at all. This is sad. Everyone seems to hate Chakotay. I like the guy. Maybe I'm lucky that I'm not hamstrung by the ability to differentiate between good and bad acting
Voyager can be entertaining, you just have to turn your brain off a lot of time.I enjoy sci-fi so much because i am able to suspend disbelief while watching it... If I picked apart everything in the star trek universe that is unrealistic I'd be here for quite some time. Whats the point of watching if you just analyze what the writers were thinking the entire time?
I cant believe people don't like VOY! I love it. The premise is fracking brilliant. I think maybe that's what I enjoyed the most about the franchise. I remember I fell in love with TNG and someone told me about VOY. I remember thinking "OMFG that is the coolest premise for a show ever." and it never wore off. I watched the whole show on netflix (without skipping ahead!) and loved every minute of it.... I know the characters weren't quite as well developed as other franchises but i think the main plot makes up for it.
With all that said, I think 7of9 is awesome, Janeway is a badass, and the doctor is amusing.
