Best TOS novel?

Crucible: McCoy: Providence of Shadows is hands-down the best TOS novel ever written. However, it's a lengthy read (I believe it's also the longest Trek novel ever published), in case that matters.

Many other greats have already been mentioned:

Uhura's Song
Crossroads
Prime Directive
The Wounded Sky

These all round out my Top 5.

Re: Best TOS Trek novel ever?

The REALLY strange thing is that the same guy started both threads.

:guffaw:

Maybe they really should be two different threads. One said best TOS novel EVER. That ever makes a really big difference. The other thread could be the best as of April 3, 1991 at 3:47 PM EST.Ten minutes later I could've changed my mind and needed to update the thread.

Really though, until the very final TOS novel, sometime in the hopefully far, distant future, is it really possible for anyone to voice an opinion on the best TOS novel ever? I mean, ever is a really, really long time.

The best TOS novels ever are, of course

1. Strangers from the Sky by Margaret Wander Bonanno

2. Spock's World, by Diane Duane.
