Best TNG episodes?

hey guys, i'm just going through TNG and it seems great. i was wondering what some of the best eps were so i could fast forward.

i'm up to season 2. so far my favourite episodes have been the one where the hologram 'moriarty' becomes alive and the episode where a captain from the 21st century is stranded on some strange casino as aliens have taken the story from his novel. this was great to me because it was so different, this was my favorite ep. i guess i enjoy the episodes where a 24th century crew interact with people from an earlier time.

Best episodes? ...but it's all so subjective. My best episode may be someone else's worst. You cannot spend much time on these forums without realising that.

My advice is to not to fast forward and make your own judgement.

Then let us know what you think like everybody else.

5. The Chase
6. The Survivors
7. The Wounded
8. Q Who
9. Where No One Has Gone Before
10. All Good Things..

But there are so many good ones...I love "Masks" but apparently its not the cup of tea of many here.

Wow, "The Royale" is one of your favorites so far? Interesting. That usually falls pretty low on most fans' TNG lists, but hey, as with RAMA, I have a soft spot for "Masks" and that one is generally hated.

Wow, "The Royale" is one of your favorites so far? Interesting. That usually falls pretty low on most fans' TNG lists, but hey, as with RAMA, I have a soft spot for "Masks" and that one is generally hated.

I have a soft spot for Masks too. I remember being given the VHS tape of that ep when I was 13. It's considered one of the worst eps around these parts, but I like it. So sue me.

I'm a little too fond of Data, but if I remember correctly both Offspring and The Measure Of A Man aired in the second season.

If you've managed to get through season 1 and half of season 2, the worst is mostly behind you. Well, almost. There are still some horrible episodes ahead, like "Up the Long Ladder" (I think it's episode 18 of season 2) and the season 2 finale. So if you want to skip some episodes, watch "Q Who" and "The Emissary" (I suppose you've already seen "The Measure of A Man") in season 2; and then watch the entire season 3. Season 3 is the most consistent season of TNG, most of the episodes are good or great, and none of them are truly awful the way that most of season 1 and a lot of season 2 is.

It gets a little more spotty in the remaining seasons, especially season 7, but the overall quality is much higher than in seasons 1 and 2.
