Best single person scene in all trek series...

2 of 10

Captain
Captain
My pick for best single extended person scene is from TNG ep "Remember Me" Never forget as Beverly has finally had finally figured then she asked the computer "How big is the Universe, the computer responds 7.52 meters, she was stuck in of Westleys projacts, it was pretty classic Trek... Does anyone have their own favoriet single person scene???

If there's nothing wrong with me then maybe there's something wrong with the universe!

I don't know if this really qualifies but I liked Picard after his mind meld with Sarek. I liked how the camera curved around him. He has a terrible breakdown. Sarek's agony tears itself out of Picard. It was a great scene in a great episode.

For some reason, the first "fave" that comes to mind is an Ezri scene. :)

It's the opening sequence of "Afterimage". After talking talking to Morn, with an expression of childlike wonder at the craziness of it all, we see her waking down the Promenade, easygoing, carefree, nodding to passersby, with a smile on her face.

And then she freezes as she sees the Bajoran Shrine. Her face has a look of pained curiosity, as if wondering how returning to that fateful place will affect her.

The closer she get to the Orb, the slower she walks, until she stops, staring intently at it. Finally, she turns away, head bowed, as if to suppress the emotions which the image conjures up. But the look on her face is one of deep reflection, at once disturbed and uneasy, and unaturraly calm, as if with shock--as Kira comes in.

Nicole deBoer projects a wide range of emotions in this one scene--and James Chattaway's symphony-theme for her helps emphasize those emotions to full dramatic intensity.

Well the two obvious answers would be Sisko's speech in Moonlight and Picard starting out the window in BOBW.

For me, one of the most dramatic scenes is with Harris Yulin who plays the Cardassian Marritza in the episode "Duet". His description of the atrocities at the labor camp were both riveting and horrifying.

Another great scene is Picard's "This far, no farther" speech from First Contact.

Commodore Decker, sitting in the auxiliary control room, describing to Kirk what happen to his crew.

For me it's Sisko at the end of In the Pale Moonlight

Worf when K'Ehleyr dies gets an honorable mention. He goes from idealing away while talking to Alexander to shock when sees K'Ehleyr, to anger when he learns Duras is responsible, to surprise and understanding when K'Ehleyr puts Alexander's hand on his, to extreme sadness as K'Ehleyr dies, to unquenchable rage.

The scene in the episode Qpid where Q realizes Vash has outsmarted him. Q's panicked reaction to the news that 'Maid Marion' has agreed to be Sir Guy's wife is priceless. Actually, Vash outsmarts both Picard and Q in the episode. In the episode Q tells Picard that Q has no control over the Robin Hood scenario and that at noon the next day they will find themselves back on the Enterprise. Once Picard had gone to Nottingham castle and finds that Vash had talked her way out of the execution he should have left well enough alone. It even received a mention on the "TV Tropes" website.

Want a quick and easy way to show what a vile, evil scumbag your villain is? Well, you could have him abuse a cute little animal... or have him sexually molest the helpless Damsel In Distress when she's at his mercy. This can include Terms Of Endangerment, unwanted kisses, licking her cheek, groping, Rape Of The Lock, dressing her in skimpy clothing, or even out-and-out trying to rape her — though this last one is usually stopped before it gets too far, as the hero generally shows up in time to rescue her. In shows with a historical/fantasy setting, it can also include attempts to force the heroine into marriage.
Under the 'Live Action TV' you'll find this:
Subverted in the Star Trek The Next Generation episode "Qpid". Q drops Picard in the middle of a Robin Hood fantasy-world, and tells the captain that if he doesn't rescue Maid Marion (actually his Love Interest Vash) she's going to be executed by Sir Guy of Gisbourne. Both Q and Picard are quite surprised when the eminently practical Vash agrees to marry Sir Guy, as it makes more sense than some stupidly-heroic rescue plan.
The Vash character was just too cool!

Warmest Wishes,
Whoa Nellie
