Yar gets a spot despite being in TNG for all of two seconds, Worf gets two slots(even though he wasn't a security officer on DS9), but Chekov doesn't get a slot?

Anyways, it's Odo. Shapeshifter and all. Enough said.

It's probably Odo but he sure acted like a petulant child everytime someone from Starfleet security showed up. Waaaa! I quit, you'll have my resignation Waaaaa.

Yar was still a security officer. Worf wasn't a security officer on DS9 by title, but surely he did some kind of bruiser work while there.

I forgot about Chekov's work as security guard. I just remember him as the Conn dude.:mallory:

I picked Odo, however you forgot to include poor Malcolm Reed in your list. He was responsible for security on Archer's Enterprise, after all.

The winner is Tuvok. Calm collected and rational, which can't be said for any of the other security chiefs. Plus Odo was security only. Everyone else was juggling security and tactial responsibilities with a little sprinkle of commo as well. Odo was sandbagging us.

But Use, Odo was running security for a mixed Starfleet, Bajoran Militia and civilian space station. None of the others had to worry about such a mix - just think of all the different rules and regulations Odo had to remember he was flaunting!

Yeah, but he didn't do that great of a job integrating the two. I remember him throwing a bitch fit every time someone from Starfleet security showed up. HERE'S MY RESIGNATION COMMANDER!

Well, Odo is an authoritarian, and either is in charge completely or not in charge at all. If Starfleet won't let him run the station his way, he's not going to be involved at all. And he offered his resignation, what, twice? It's not as though he was resigning every time he saw a gold uniform.

Worf on DS9 is not a security officer, but strategic operations. He's not even wearing a gold uniform anymore.

And Tuvok with a 'k'.

But yeah, Odo. End of story really.

You do realise that there was this show named ENT? You may not like it, but the list isn't complete if you ignore it....

Anyway, I went for Odo.

I voted for Odo. Tuvok was certainly good at his job and Reed was super enthused about his job but Odo had the most challenges. Really his job was enormous, a whole space station in the middle of a war full of numerous races with their own agendas. Can't compare it to a starship.

Odo. Worf succumbed to the Worf effect, and was usually seen as more of a weapons guy anyway. Tasha seemed more like security rather than tac, but only lasted a few episodes. Tuvok was better than Worf (as a security chief, not as a character), but nobody compares to Odo.
