Best Season Five of any series

Looks like DS9 wins Season 4 with 46 percent of the vote. Season 5 is where it pretty much goes Deep Space Nine for me from here on out. Apacolypse Rising,Trials and Tribbelations,Things Past,For the Uniform,In Purgatory's Shadow/By inferno light,Soldiers of the Empire,Children of Time,Blaze of Glory and Call to Arms. Loved how they brought the Klingons back in an allience with the Federation with the Cardassions joining the Dominion and starting the big war.And Trials and Tribbleations was a brilliant episode.

Season 1:Star Trek
Season 2:Star Trek
Season 3:The Next Generation
Season 4:Deep Space Nine

DS9, very easy choice
Even if the rest of the season was tosh, purely for 'Call To Arms' it'd still get my vote

For me, it's easily DS9.

I think it's in a class of its own at this stage, juggling multiple story lines that deal with politics, religion morality etc., further developing the characters, telling some fantastic stories, and boasting for the most part wonderful performances.
I think it's not only more amibtious than the other 5th seasons but that amibtion has actually been realized.

Seconded. The 3-parter where NX-01 is sent forward in time by Daniels to "The Trouble With Tribbles" and Archer and company have to avoid being spotted by both Kirk and Sisko's crew is stellar.

I actually voted for DS9.

I'll fly against consent here and say Season Five of The Next Generation was the best, when the whole Star Trek franchise was at it's very height in popularity and that Season Five of Voyager was a big improvement over Seasons Two to Three.

Damn straight! :scream:

The way Manny Coto expertly reworked that abandoned Phase II script Tomorrow and the Stars, replacing the Pearl Harbour setting for NY on 9/11 rightly got Star Trek it's first Emmy for lead actor and writer. Moving the show to CBS paid off in my opinion. William Shatner's guest shot brought a tear to my eye and those skirmishes foreshadowing the Romulan War reminded why I became a Star Trek fan in the first place.

Sigh... but since CBS/Paramount cast me adrift from my native universe, I'll go with Deep Space Nine.

Deep Space Nine hands down.

TNG's 5th started tremendously strong, with gems like "Ensign Ro", but quite a few episodes were terrible.

While I think I could easily pick DS9, as did most, I picked TNG. Overall some of the strongest episodes of the entire series are in DS9's 5th season, but, its uneven, with some of my least liked episodes there as well. TNG had a great 5th to me, with some marvelous episodes, most just very good. Not one I really disliked.

Absolute no-brainer, DS9.

DS9 wins pretty much hands down. TNG comes in next, with Voyager some way distant.

Season 1:Star Trek
Season 2:Star Trek
Season 3:The Next Generation
Season 4:Deep Space Nine

i can see these seasons being chosen though TOS S3 is in some ways better than TNG3, TNG peaked with S3 in certain aspects and that's why it takes the crown

after these 3 seasons its a big drop off to ds9-4, but like all ds9 when it was good it was entertaining, and worf's first season was just that

season 5 - eh, no vote for me

This is when DS9 really starts to break away from the pack. Tho it had a better S3 and S4 than any other series, too.

Given how much ENT improved in S4, maybe if it had had an S5 under Manny Coto, it would have been a contender.
