Once a co-worker suggested that I lift a sticker from a chair using Lysol (many a moon ago when you could get it).

My mind was too regimented. I thought you need a this for a that and the label has to fit the—and she yanked it out of my hand and brute force soaked the label with it ‘till it lifted away.

^you can also remove stickers with grease or ordinary salad oil. Just make sure the underground is grease-proof.

In my office I have a note on the pinboard that says:
