It hasn't been posted to TrekToday News Items yet and this is a better place to discuss it anyway.

On November 17th, the second volume of The Best of Star Trek: The Next Generation will be released.

2 episodes from season 5
2 episodes from season 6
The Inner Light, Cause and Effect, Relics and Tapestry.

Of course Tapestry is already on the Star Trek: Fan Collective - Q .
Paramount Home Entertainment is releasing a lot of product in 2009.

What is left for them in 2010 and 2011?
TOS season 3 Blu-ray/DVD and what? Best Of Star Trek:TNG Vol.3, 4, and 5?
Enterprise is an obvious choice for Blu-ray but this constant milking of TNG? When will the madness end? Sure we would like a TNG-R but have discussed the immense costs involved.

This is so stupid. Inner Light and Tapestry are on the Picard Collection, Cause and Effect is on the Time Travel Collection.

It just seems to me there are too many overlaps on these Collections, greatly reducing fan's motivations to, you know, collect them.

I'm not surprised, TNG is the Mothership of Star Trek shows. But I think they are botching the episode selection, even if its fan voting.

A smart one for TNG might be a "Family Episode" collection, there are several good ones in that vein.

The issue is they are picking episodes for each set with no accounting for the previous sets. This list is perfect for a best of set(after the 4 on vol 1). Sure the fans who have bought the previous themed sets may not one to double dip, but for the casual viewer who picked the first set for $10 at walmart this is a perfect 2nd impulse buy.

Really...stop releasing the same shows... I have Cause and Effect on Time Travel, and The Inner Light on Alt Realities. So even if I wasn't so far in debt I wouldn't buy these.
