Best "O'Brien Must Suffer!" Episode?

In which was he replaced by a doppleganger assassin who thought he was O'Brien, and whom we were actually following for the duration of the episode?

That was 'Whispers'. And I voted for that one, too. Great episode.

The writers really enjoyed giving poor Miles a Hard Time, didn't they?

Hard Time is one of the best episodes of the series, and easily the best of the Torture O'Brien episodes. Whispers would come in second place for me.

Hard Time would be my favorite, followed closely by Whispers, then Visionary. O'Brien was a terrific character, and Meany was a great actor.

Definitely Honor Among Thieves. Love Bilby. Always breaks my heart when I see how Bilby had to die to save his family and it's all O'Brien's fault even though O'Brien doesn't want it to be.

I voted for Whispers. That episode is kind of creepy, almost like Rosemary's Baby.

And it is weird that O'Brien suffers so much. He and Worf seem to have the worst lives of all the main characters, with O'Brien slightly more miserable simply because he's married to Keiko.

Even though Ive seen all of DS9 and it's my favorite series I dont have a clue what happens in each of those episodes. Can someone give a quick run down of what happens in each? that way i'll remember which episodes we're talking about and then I can pick my fave.
It does my nut in when people just post the ep names and expect everyone to know what happens in those eps, I dont go on ep names I go on what actually happens in them.

I recommend bookmarking that site and making it your friend. I often forget the names of episodes as well and use this regularly to figure it out! :techman:

I voted for Whispers. I'm not a big fan of Hard Time for some reason.

Second place would have gone to Visionary.

So i've got to use my own time to scan all 7 seasons and systematically click on each ep just to find out what happened in them? :cardie:
What happened to the good old days when the OP did all that for you so everyone else who enters the thread doesnt have to do it, that way only the OP does all the work and everyone else can immediately vote. They did start the thread afterall. :techman:

Ditto on all accounts. "Hard Time" is very depressing whereas "Whispers" is a slick Twilight Zone-esque mystery. And "Visionary" is one of those "busy" episodes where a whole lot goes on!

Can I vote for NONE. The guy has that wife. I think he has to suffer more than anyone in Star Trek history.

Hard Time, though Whispers comes close and Honor Among Thieves gets an honourable mention. Ha, ha, I'm a laugh a minute...

D'oh! That wasn't too nice!

Hard Time, hands down, got my vote. All are worthy entries in the whole "mess with O'Brien" milieu, but something about the mundane horror of his crime while "inside" reminds me of the Twighlight Zone. Agreed that Colm Meaney is a good actor. Off topic, but it would be interesting to see O'Brien in an alternate universe as a Starfleet c.o., BTW.
