I didn't vote because the lack of any "The Walking Dead" & "Boardwalk Empire" and for me BWE just edges out the zombie drama but its might close.

Didn't anyone watch "Louie"? I know it's a bit obscure since it was only on the air for 13 episodes in the summer and it's on F/X, but it's a very creative, incisively blunt, eloquent, and original show that was critically acclaimed (as far as I know) and did well enough to be renewed for a second season. It has this kind of depressingly true-to-life humour that I find bracing.

Since I can't go with anything SF&F, I'll say Sherlock.

Damn! How did I forget Sherlock? That was one of the best shows I've seen all year.

Although I suppose you could argue that was more of a miniseries . . . .
I see it as just a season made up of three 2-hour episodes. Another season like that is on the way.

I see it as TV movies and not a series / season / show. I don't care what the Brits say, three episodes is not a show. :p

The Walking Dead is the only really good show that premiered this year (that I saw anyway, I don't get HBO, what a pathetic year for TV, ugh). But Chaos would have promise if it weren't doomed in the ratings.

Btw. because it's been mentioned several times I think Chicago Code sucks hard. The only character on the show that I like is the newbie partner (and I probably do only because he was Luke Cafferty on FNL) of the asshole douchebag super-cop. I don't understand what this show even wants to be, gritty police-political drama ala Wire or simple procedural ala L&O? Anyway, it fails at both, unlikable and cliche characters (oh but Gibbons cares about old people, how deep ) and boring crime mysteries. Waste of fucking time imo.

Since Walking Dead wasn't there (????) I flipped a coin and went with The Cape, with No Ordinary Family a close second.

There are shows other than The Walking Dead? :wtf:

Oh right, I did watch Boardwalk Empire too. It was pretty good. There were a couple of episodes where I couldn't quite follow the narrative. I'm not sure if the show was inconsistently written or if I am just stupid.

Toss up between Terriers and Nikita for me; Killing, Chicago Code and Body of Proof are ok too.

 I don't know who you are or what you want with him, but you better let Roger go, sir. :p;)

Dude, did you mix up shows in the first post? The last episode wasn't that bad that it should make you have such a dramatic shift in opinion that quickly.

I like Chicago Code but, yeah, the lead cop is annoying as hell. Ryan should have offered the role to Chiklis and saved him from No Ordinary Family. Sure, people would grouse that it was just "Shield lite" if that were the case but, really, it already is that.

The only one on this list I've even seen is Bob's Burgers, so, uh, that gets my vote by default.

Same here. Even though I'm voting for it by default there's a good chance it would get my vote if I had seen more shows though. It's pretty good.

I've been meaning to check out The Killing, but other than that, everything else this year looks pretty terrible.

I've only seen full episodes of six of those shows (No Ordinary Family, Hellcats, Running Wilde, The Cape, Hawaii Five-0 and The Killing). Out of those, my vote goes to The Killing. Not sure why Boardwalk Empire wouldn't be on there, or Louie (which I hear great things about but haven't gotten around to yet).

It looks like the poll only includes network television shows as opposed to premium cable networks like HBO or Showtime. I forgot about Boardwalk Empire...I think that's my new 'other' vote. It started off a little slow but was incredible by the end of the season IMO.
