Best episodes of Sliders?

ok, thanks.

i'll try and check them out.

If you're watching early Sliders for the sci-fi, you'll be disappointed. The main focus of the series at the beginning was to show alternate histories and differing social norms. It was great.

That's as much sci-fi as anything else on television.

My point is that many of the best eoisodes from season 1 and 2, such as The Weaker Sex, Eggheads, Luck of the Draw and Post Traumatic Slide Syndrome feature parallel worlds that aren't entirely outside the realm of possibility when compared to our own history. Beyond the sliding, there's no other sci-fi elements to them. Of course there are episodes like In Dino Veritas, Gillian of the Spirits, Invasion and As Time Goes By that do feature sci-fi specific plots, and those are the ones you tend to find the most flaws in.

Alternate history is sci-fi.

The question was-which eps were best?

Post Traumatic Slide Syndrome was interesting.
The one where alt Quinn moved the whole population to another Earth was good.

Frankly, I think the series was amusing overall. It was seriously flawed but tried hard to be likeable and succeeded for the most part. I think if you want hard sf you're barking up the wrong tree to start with. Just watch and have fun.

The one about the Christmas Shopping Mall was cool for what it was.

If you want serious alt hist scifi, Fringe does it better....
And no one does it right-yet. At least, not outside literature...

Quinn couldn't move the whole population, only a few hundred. That was when the professor died.

Season 1 was best. The only thing season 2 had going for it was the original cast was still intact.

Agreed. When the cast members began leaving in the second season and being replaced it never was the same.

Actors didn't start to get FIRED until season three.

The first half of season four is definitely better than the last half of season three!

Anything is better than that.

You right the cast did not start leaving until season 3.:bolian:
Season 5 was just not good, except for seeing Rembrandt still surviving.:vulcan:

You're thinking of a different episode, "Exodus". He was talking about "World Killer".
