It's a close race between Caretaker and Eye of the Needle, but I'm going with the former.

Well, I'm a huge fan and loved Parallax. The part where both Janeway and Torres say "WARP PARTICLES!" got the second vote for me. But i had to choose Caretaker..the best plot, best special effects and all in all a wonderful cast as well. And thanks to putting up the Best of... Voyager sure needs it! It's been bashed way too long, IMO.

I agree on that. I've never seen such a great pilot episode ever. That's one of the episodes I still can watch and have the same feeling of excitement as when I watched it for the first time.

The introduction of the characters, the build-up of the whole story, yes there are a lot of things which makes the episode good.

oh I'm not saying that it wasn't a great pilot, definately better than Farpoint. But I'm just saying that there are episodes in season 1 that are much better

I thought Time and Again was a real good episode but I'm a sucker for temporal storylines.

Eye of the Needle is good, but the problem with these "way / message home"- style episodes is that you just always KNEW that something would go pear shaped and it was almost frustrating to watch.

Good episode, like Prime Factors, you can't help but feel frustrated at the endings.

So I, controversially, vote for Time and Again.
