So, 23rd century ain't advanced enough for ya?I like the original but it's a bit too basic for me.
Back atcha:
Methinks you have conflated several different stories there. For one thing, Roddenberry first pitched Star Trek to Herb Solow at Desilu in April 1964, and CBS was pitched the concept but turned it down by early May 1964. It was only after CBS turned it down that it was pitched to NBC, and Jefferies and Justman et al weren't approached until after NBC signed on. There was no Enterprise design for a network honcho to handle.[... Famously the same problem happened with the original Enterpirse. The head honcho of CBS was commenting on the model's design while holding it the wrong way.
LOL You know full well what I mean. So, 23rd century ain't advanced enough for ya?I like the original but it's a bit too basic for me.
You ain't one of them there time-travelin' fellars, is ya?

Yeah, I think I do, but the detail on the ship (particularly on the hull plating) in the remastered eps really works better for me than the smooth, featureless look of the original opticals. It's SO less toy-looking- very, well, REAL to me. In this case, basic is futuristic IMO.LOL You know full well what I mean.
