Best Captain(With Poll)

Since the original Best Captain discussion didn't have a poll, I took it upon myself to make one.

First off, Benjamin Sisko is the best captain for these reasons:

1) He is on the frontline of the Dominion War.
2) A messiah-like figure to an alien religion.
3) He trapped the Pah-wraith in the Bajoran Fire Caves.
4) He has a better backstory than the other captains.

Now who do you think is the best captain.

It used to be Kirk... the one, the only, the original. Perfect blend of integrity and badassedness. Whether it will still be Kirk remains to be seen.

i voted the sisko purely because he is THE sisko.
and the fact that he seems more 'normal' then the other captains.

Another reason why Sisko is better than the other captains is his command. The other four captains only have to command of Starships with people working for the Federation. Sisko has command to a Space Station, where he has to look after many different species living together and the loads of people coming in and out due to the Wormhole. On top of all that, he also has three responsibilities: a Starfleet officer, the Emissary of the Prophets, and a father.

When I see these polls so often and see Sisko get voted for so often, my mind goes back to that bizarre scene in Trekkies--when one, one SOB out of like thirty people shown in the final cut says Sisko.

An interesting inference to make from this finding is that only nerds worthy of a showcase in Trekkies vote for anyone other than Sisko.

Geuss I'm going to get bashed for saying this, but I voted Archer. I was originaly going to vote for ''The SISCO'' since he is my favorite captian( Well he's tied with Archer anyway) The only reason I voted for Archer is because after Season 3 ended I finally got the feel that this was the start of a GREAT captain. And by the end of the ''Babel One'' Arc I really saw his potential start to shine! It's a shame Ent only lasted the four years that it did! CURSE YOU PARAMOUNT, CURSE YOUUU!!!!

Sisko was my favorite for the first 6 seasons of DS9. But by the time season 7 was over I was so tired of "The Sisko" and Trek's recurring theme of the captain of the series being the center of the universe...
