What's your pick? I'd probably go with Judgement.
Argh, misspelled in a thread title again!
"Azati Prime" has probably the best Archer speech, since he's committed to that one-way suicide mission - about being proud of the Enterprise and insisting they get back to exploring once Earth is safe. The other standout moment where he characteristically gets captured and beaten up, but manages to torment the Xindi-Reptillian,Dollum with talk of turtle soup.
Agreed, he was great in that.
Great scene - and yeah, Archer always seems to be getting beaten up in the show - but eventually coming out on top.
My favorite Archer episode is also my favorite of the series -- "Observer Effect." Great character turns by everyone, but it was an amazing show for Archer. Pleading on behalf of the human race even as he was dying himself - plus that sequence where he and Phlox tried, but failed, to save Hoshi. Just killed me.
Close second place: "Similitude." Watching Archer basically age 20 years over the course of the show, as Sim lived his life over 8 days, was an amazing way to show the cost to Archer of having to make an impossible choice because he had to save the world (and the galaxy). The whole Xindi arc, seeing Archer torture himself as he crossed his own moral lines to win the war, was stellar for the character, and I think Bakula did great.
In my opinion, any episode where Archer and Shran are working together.
That's a great point @HopefulRomantic - Observer Effect was an amazing episode. Very overlooked, perhaps because we remember the fourth season multi-parters most It's very interesting how the best of Enterprise tended to deconstruct a lot of Trek, especially Next Generation. In this case, that episode was a great deconstruction of the Prime Directive. And Similitude is great as well!
Observer effect is my favorite Archer episode .I liked he told the organians they needed to have compassion for other people and was one of the best speeches he did in Enterprise.
Home was mine as it had Archer dealing with the events of the past year, as well as his actions over the past year and him coming to grips with the fact that he is a different person because of the expanse. I always remember his speech he gave to Erika. "I look at you, and I see the person I was three years ago - the explorer that my father wanted me to be. I lost something out there. And I don't know how to get it back."
I’m very partial to “First Flight” as a great Archer episode.
That's a good choice there.
For me, it’s a tie between “Shockwave” and “Damage”.
I liked ENT a lot, but part of me wonders how cool it would have been if they did a “Right Stuff”- inspired season arc that would have been a lot like “First Flight.”
@Vger23 I think the original conception of the show was a lot more like "First Flight" - IIRC, the first season would have ended with the ship finally leaving Earth for the first time, and the first season be the build up to that, but the network didn't like that.
He had many for sure.
But my favorite was his speech in 'Terra Prime'.
"Up until about a hundred years ago, there was one question that burned in every human, that made us study the stars and dream of traveling to them, Are we alone? Our generation is privileged to know the answer to that question. We are all explorers, driven to know what's over the horizon, what's beyond our own shores. And yet, the more I've experienced, the more I've learned that no matter how far we travel, or how fast we get there, the most profound discoveries are not necessarily beyond that next star. They're within us, woven into the threads that bind us, all of us, to each other. The final frontier begins in this hall. Let's explore it together."
Brings a tear to my eye every time.
"Heart of Archness" - season three, episodes 1-3.
Oops... wrong show...
Season 2 when they had the flashbacks to Lian-Yu is my favourite season of Archer.
Oh wait, you mean Captain Arrow from Enterprise. I really like Damage and it's a solid outing but there's a couple of whiney moments where he huffs and puffs at Captain Casey Biggs who has his own problems to deal with.
It was the culmination of all of season 3 and it introduced his former love interest.
"Twilight". Great stuff there.
I really like First flight it's a on e of my favorite Enterprise shows and Home too.I like Capatin Erika Hernandez she was a good captain and I really liked her character.
