Best and worst episode of the season?

Best: "Into the Forest I Go" - The gold standard of the show thus far. Just a thrilling ride from start to finish. "What's Past is Prologue" is a close second.

Worst: "Si Vis Pacem, Para Bellum" - The one with the weird planet that intoxicated Saru to the point of extreme cowardice, but wait, according to him he wasn't intoxicated at all! Plus the super lame Burnham/Tyler budding romance.

Best - Probably Into the Forest I Go. I loved Lorca in this one (although later developments undid it), I loved the stuff with the Ship of the Dead, and Burnham's mission on board. It was a strong episode for Culber/Stamets, and the Klingons speaking English worked so much better than Klingon.
Worst - either Despite Yourself for the Culber murder, or What's Past is Prologue for the absurd ending to Lorca's arc.

I think Si Vis Pacem, Para Bellum was my favorite and I thought the best. The season finale was my least favorite. I can't quite call it the worst as I may still be a prisoner of the moment, but as of now its the one I enjoyed the least.

So I actually liked the arc episodes, and my least favorite is the one that was a typical trek episode.

I just ran out of enthusiasm for the show after that.

Kind of the opposite for me, the show kept building steam after that. The first two episodes I liked, I just really didnt know where they were going with it. (and CBS all access did not work well at all to begin with, not that it works great now, which didn't improve things).

BTW if anyone is sufficiently bored, when this thread finally dies, count up the number of "bests" each episode gets and subtract the number of "worsts" it got. The resulting "best-minus-worst" totals provides the mathematically proven least-likely-to-be-wrong ranking of all 15 episodes according to the people participating in this thread. The scores, in fact, can be put into a mathematical equation to give further info on how often people would choose episode x over episode y in any direct head-to-head comparison. Beats the "rating scores" hands down.

I have to agree on both of these, though the Mudd episode is probably the episode I may return to watch the most.
