TOS:
Best: Mirror, Mirror
Worst: City on the Edge of Forever

TNG:
Best: Yesterday's Enterprise
Worst: The Inner Light

DS9:
Best: All the Mirror universe episodes
Worst: Muse

Voyager:
Best: Can't think of a single one
Worst: Most of the last half of season 3.

Enterprise:
Best: In a Mirror Darkly (sense a pattern here?)
Worst: Too easy given that Trip was a main character, but my vote again, goes to most of season 3.

Star Trek:
Best: It's hard to pick one, but I think I'll go with The Naked Time.
Worst: Spock's Brain

Star Trek: The Next Generation
Best: The Measure of a Man
Worst: Sub Rosa

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine
Best: Hard to pick again. I guess I'll have to go with The Way of the Warrior.
Worst: Move Along Home

Star Trek: Voyager
Best: Prime Factors
Worst: The 37s

Star Trek: Enterprise
I'm not qualified. I didn't watch it.

Star Trek
Best: The City on the Edge of Forever
Worst: a toss-up between The Alternative Factor, The Omega Glory and And the Children Shall Lead - three unwatchable messes

Star Trek: The Next Generation
Best: Who Watches the Watchers (this one seems to get better and better every time I watch it, while other classics like The Best of Both Worlds are starting to seem a bit dated)
Worst: Shades of Gray

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine
Best: Sacrifice of Angels (the seven-episode arc spanning the sixth and seventh season will always be my favorite Trek ever, so I guess I must cite the culmination of that story as the best DS9 episode)
Worst: Profit and Lace

Star Trek: Voyager
Best: Year of Hell
Worst: The Fight

Enterprise
Best: Carbon Creek
Worst: another toss-up - Oasis for shamelessly ripping off a DS9 story, Horizon for boring me to tears

I have to admit, I haven't watched nearly as much DS9, VOY, or ENT as I would have liked. So, I'll list what I can - but maybe, based on the types of episodes I include here, somebody could point me to a few good examples of episodes from the newer series that I might enjoy. Thx! :-)

ST
Best: The Doomsday Machine
Worst: Spock's Brain

TNG
Best: The Measure of a Man
Worst: Shades of Grey

DS9
Best: Trials and Tribble-ations
Worst: No clue. ???

VOY & ENT
No clue. ???

Worst: City on the Edge of Forever

Seriously? I can understand someone taking the position that the episode is grossly overrated, but really - the WORST of all TOS' episodes? Worse than "Spock's Brain" or "And The Children Shall Lead"? Better defend that.

And The Inner Light as the worst TNG episode? I dunno - everyone's entitled to an opinion but that does seem a bit harsh.

Yes, I prefer "Spock's Brain", and even "And the Children Shall Lead" (although I agree that one's pretty bad) to "City", but I don't like episodes that take place mostly off the Enterprise, and I never have liked Joan Collins. She just annoys me. Also, yes, that episode is extremely over-rated.

That's another one that I feel is over-rated. But like you said, these are only my opinions. I am clearly in the minority here.

Well, I can certainly see where episodes that take place almost entirely off-ship could be a little disappointing. I have always liked the ones where they get to board (or at least see) other Federation ships.

BTW, I do tend to enjoy the mirror universe episodes a lot. I'm finally starting to familiarize myself with ENT and I just checked out part 1 of In a Mirror Darkly. Seems like it could be an interesting one.

But aren't you kind of making ToddPence's point with this statement? The thread asks for the worst episode, and there is a huge difference between "worst" and "most overrated". And I dare to state that you're not even going for that, but rather for "episodes you dislike because too many other people like them", which is something else altogether.

Citing The City on the Edge of Forever and The Inner Light as the worst episodes just seems a tad adverserial for adversity's sake - s'all.

No, I'm making my own point, nobody else's. I genuinely dislike those two "classic" episodes, or fan favorites, if you prefer that term. The adversarial part would be coming from somebody telling me that I'm stupid for feeling that way, not from me.

And yes, I know nobody has done that. Yet.

As I said, this is my opinion. Nothing more. People can either agree, or disagree to their heart's content.

^ Okay, cool. So it seems I misinterpreted what you were going for, my apologies.

I guess that just leaves me surprised as hell that you called out these particular episodes.
