Benedict Cumberbach joins the cast

So what do you thik the odds are that we will get a familair villian for the new Trek feature, as opposed to someone completely new?

I expect to see an all-new villain, but aided and assisted by someone we already know - but the audience not being able to guess if that supporting character is going to side with good or evil in this timeline. Expecting to see someone like Kor or Kang or Garth.

I also think they'll be setting up the third movie in this one.

I'm so glad Benedict has been cast. Whatever role he ends up playing is a bonus.

Having had the privilege of seeing him in theatre, and of course the brilliant Moffat/Gatiss helmed Sherlock, this is great news and I was happy when I read it a few days ago.

I remember when they were casting the 11th Doctor and he was rumoured to have auditioned and I couldnt have been happier if he got it but he turned it down. Then along came Sherlock and he was perfect.

I'm so happy he's now part of Star Trek, in whatever role he is playing.

You have it back to front a bit. Benedict never auditioned for the Doctor, he was cast in Sherlock before auditions began for the 11th Doctor. But Matt Smith did audition to be Dr. John Watson and then was cast as The Doctor as a result.

Benedict being in nuTrek 2 doubles my reason to bother watching it. Not only can i now look forward to another stellar performance from Karl Urban, it'll also feature one of the greatest British actors currently working today.

Oops, my bad. Bad memory to boot.

I love Benedict. He's fantastic. As you, me and countless others will agree he is one he greatest british actors working in the industry today.

Cant wait to see what his part is in the sequel, even if it is a small part it will be worth it.

Karl Urban and Leonard Nimoy were the main two reasons I wanted to see the first, urban just channelled De Kelley.

I saw the first one primarily to see Nimoy as Ambassador Spock one more time. The movie then blew me away with it's original story and attempt to tell it to a modern audience. Urban was brilliant as Dr McCoy as was Zachary Quinto and Simon Pegg in their respective roles. The others had to work a little harder to get me interested in what they were doing.
