Ben Cross is Sarek

Perhaps not. I am familiar with Ben Cross and his career. His recent career over the past 7 years has been filled with so-so B Movies and, after seeing the most recent ones, I am beginning to wonder if they haven't affected his acting ability. The fact that his most recent job has been singing backup to a Bulgarian Frank Sinatra wannabe (Vasil Petrov) and being a Bulgarian travel promoter may not bode well for this new film. For his sake, I hope the role is a small one.

Somehow I doubt the dubious career choices of one actor in this film is going to have a devastating impact on this movie.

Especially in a role small as this. All Ben Cross needs is a little charisma, and the ability to look placid and cool.

Listen, y'all like Bill Shatner, right? Because he's been in some terrible movies. ;)

Judge a man by his performance abilities, not his skill in getting jobs. For our intents and purposes, that's all that matters.

Potentially a good substitute for Mark Lenard. It's strange how the casting has gone for this film. They seemed to have tried hard in places. Occasionally hitting the right mark for actors with a passing resemblance (Quinto, Cross, Yelchin, Saldana, even Urban) then getting it wrong altogether (Pegg, Cho, Greenwood).
