Beltran to play Chak in the next Renegades

As long as Edward Furlong gets the lead...

I don't know if you meant it ironically or metaphorically but there was indeed a lot of singing in Star Trek when I think about it.

But he's no longer a widower.

I FULLY expect him to mention "the missus" in an offhand comment in Renegades.

There will be a holo photo of Admiral Janeway on his desk.

I was surprised just then to find out that Chuck and Kate were hitched.

Wow.

That's a drum I thought you would have beat more unless it just happened.

(We don't know what continuity these people are planning on following, except Abrams, that guy is their Colonel Klink.)

If you marry a dead person... If it's till death do you part, can you marry a dead person? Just saying, that because of how long Janeway was dead in the novels, doesn't that make her new husband an autowidower?

This is like proper logical inconsistency.

You can't become a husband without instantaneously being widowed, but if you are instantly widowed, you were never a husband, so you can't be a widow.

It's just like novel-Chak to hog all the drama and tragedy to himself.

The order of events went like this:

Janeway and Chakotay FINALLY do it. Yes, the big Sex. Chakotay is all emo in the build up.

Then the very next morning Janeway leaves on the mission that Peter David simultaneously kills her in and has Pluto eaten in. The very next morning.

So they weren't married, he wasn't so much a widower of marriage as a widower of one time sex with the person he pined for, annoyingly, over the last ten years. He immediately fell into the massive emo pit and wallowed to the point where nearly every reader was throwing the book in disgust.

He started to get a little better and then Janeway came back from the dead and then they had more sex and got married.

That's a drum I thought you would have beat more unless it just happened.

I posted I was happy that a huge chunk of fandom was catered to, even if it's not my chunk of fandom.

I was super diplomatic and generous and nice about it. That's probably why you don't remember me saying anything.

Someday the world will appreciate the sexiness that is J/AJ and Treklit will cater to ME!!

I have written to Kirsten but she has not replied.

I can't imagine Janeway and Chakotay married. Maybe in the first couple of seasons but not after they'd been friends for so long and Chakotay entered into a relationship with, for all intents and purposes, her daughter. It just seems icky.

I skipped through the first episode of Renegades earlier. I didn't see any characters I recognize but I know Tuvok and Chekov are in it. The acting didn't seem all that great so Robert Beltran should fit in fine.

When did Chakotay and Janeway get married in the books?

I just sort of skimmed over his PTSD in the books....the same way I do when he has a Vision Quest.

But while I didn't 'hate' the Chakotay on the show at the same time I didn't miss him when they moved him into the background.

I have very little interest in Renegades at the moment. Maybe later...

Maybe they are not married. But they are sharing quarters and are in looooove. Or were sharing quarters when they were on the same ship. I don't know where they are now. I am behind.

Someone tell us the facts!

Getting married is so 21st century.

They're in the Delta Quadrant. :D

Seriously I don't think they are married...just together.

I honestly don't have a problem with that...believe it or not it doesn't take up a lot of space.

Is Janeway the Captain?

Point is that if she's in command of the vessel they're standing on, Chuck might not even know that he married her because the entire ceremony took place when he was sleeping, watching sports or something as equally important.

Janeway could actually be the perfect wife if she divorces him every morning just before he wakes up, and marries him again seconds after he passes out from a hard ways work.

"Stealth-Marriage"

They tax your time. That's why everyone is "working" to better themselves. And that's why wasting time on the holodeck or hanging out in a bar is seen as reprobate behavior rather than your 20's.

She's still waiting for you to fulfill your previous deal to bear her child if she would only bring Janeway back to life. :p
