I’ve always sensed a homoerotic tension simmering underneath George and Mitchell's friendship. How different would the show had been if they had gotten together instead of Mitchell and Annie? Would George and Nina just been friends? Would George and Mitchell’s relationship have had the same tragic ending as Mitchell and Annie’s?
