Americans who don't pay for cable or steal cable are so often sedated by contained or stillborn story telling like COPLAWYERDOCTOR or unresolved fauxpseudointellectualbullshit that generates suspended plot which is never resolved like Lost, that it's difficult for them to imagine that all the little bits and pieces taking root in the pilot are going to spin out of control explosivly over the next few weeks. There wasn't a big win at the end of each episode because this is still the beginning of the complete story.
