Well there's a few changes. In the British version vampires have no reflection, Annie can touch things and we've seen nothing of George's family.

Ugh, I think I got a year's worth of whiny, self-pitying emo crap (with insipid pop songs to make things all the more intolerable) in just that one episode. Sam Witwer and Mark Pelligrino are watchable but the other actors are atrocious. That's it for me, I'd rather watch V, which may be nonsense but at least the characters don't make you want to strangle them.
The attempts at humor fell horribly flat (did someone actually mention the Bobsy Twins?) and the attempts to be "hip" were painful to watch. The oh-so-kewl vampire den was particularly cringeworthy.
Bottom line, vampires and werewolves are played out. I'm not at all interested in going over the same old ground yet again. I hope the ratings for this go straight into the toilet next week to teach skiffy not to steal bad premises for shows. If you're going to steal, steal something good!

I wondered because those careers are a little more high profile, which runs counter to them staying under the radar a bit because of their "conditions".

I liked it but Im a sucker for werewolf dorks(I watch Sanctuary just for Henry )
that said there's a lot here that had me a bit bored b/c its all so familiar to other similar shows Ive seen in the past, so i hope they can come up with some new twists.

Which just goes to show what they knew about the original when they decided to make the US version. I read an interview where they said they were going to make one of the characters Jewish to make the conflict more interesting than the usual Christianity cliches.
