Sunday 10 January
Time to be confirmed BBC THREE

Russell Tovey, Lenora Crichlow and Aidan Turner return in the second series of the hit BBC Three drama following the lives of three housemates who also happen to be a werewolf, a ghost and a vampire. The series gets off to a gripping start as the consequences of George murdering Herrick begin to catch up with him.
After a night in the pub, George and Mitchell are challenged in a dark alley by married vampires Ivan and Daisy, who are looking to taunt the pair in retaliation for the downfall of their late leader. Daisy, however, has more than revenge on her mind.
As well as the conflicts with the supernatural, George also has issues closer to home with his relationship with Nina. Clearly under strain after Nina's dramatic discovery of George's secret, the couple seem to be avoiding the consequences it has for each of them.
Nina seeks comfort from Annie, who is wholeheartedly embracing her newfound confidence by applying for a job as a barmaid at the local pub. Annie sets about her mission with her usual gusto, much to the bemusement and concern of her housemates.

So Series 4 of Skins starts next Thursday at 10pm, but I came across this news recently

MTV is developing a stateside version of the raunchy U.K. series "Skins," but will the network be able to capture the raunchy appeal of the original? The original version follows an ensemble of British teens and contains copious amounts of swearing and drug use, along with some nudity (or, as MTV delicately describes the show in its press release, "Skins" is "about a group of British teenagers who are trying to grow up and find love and happiness" -- awwww). Moreover, the show uses an innovative production model, casting teenage unknowns to star in the series and employing young first-time writers. MTV chased the popular show for two years and beat out the CW for the rights.
MTV says it will continue the original show's production model with co-creator Bryan Elsley writing and executive producing the pilot.
“‘Skins’ is one of those rare shows that cuts through to its core audience with unusually authentic stories due to the unique writing and casting process that Bryan pioneered," said Liz Gateley, senior VP, MTV Series Development. "Having personally pursued the U.K. project for almost two years, I am beyond thrilled to bring it to MTV in the U.S. We intend to preserve the authenticity of the British version and are excited to collaborate with the original team to develop stories that will speak to American youth."

With the news of Fox looking at doing a US version of Torchwood, and HBO doing an American Shameless, looks like America is going to be inundated with remakes of British shows.

Wow. Tripe-whammy of shows I love being put on the chopping block there! Don't MTV censor 'goddam' on their channel? How could Skins or Shameless ever survive that level of censorship?

Back with real Skins, this series has a suitably grim trailer and I'm looking forward to it, despite the weaknesses of series 3. Chris Addison is also in episode 1, which is always a plus. Hopefully series 4 will be to series 3 what 2 was to 1 and we'll all be very happy!

Well Shameless is being done by HBO, so they should be able to get away with everything they do on Channel 4, but Skins on MTV might as well be your average CW show.

I've been watching series 3 again, and it seems like, besides the stupid mistakes, the real problem is that you don't see a lot of important developments they're just sprung on you in the episode where it's important.

I'll have to look for the trailer, not seen it yet.
