Just finished watching last night's ep, and I'm really starting to like Jim's character. Seems like, if anything, Cook is worse than Tony, if they're going to try and redeem him what are they gonna do? It took Tony being hit with a bus to make him redeemable.
We've had mention of Tony, Sid and Anwar now, looks like they're trying to show no-one's been forgotten, but you have to wonder how they'll get mention of anyone else in there.

Cooks character is starting to annoy me now and I'm just starting to loose interest in Skins all together. It seems like when Cook and Pandora slept together then we would see a bit of hope with Cook, that he would fight Thomas over Pandora, but instead (looking at next weeks episode) he is going to be thrown straight in to another rivialry.

Can I ask, where was Tony's reference? I saw Sid's in the first episode, and the mention of Anwar on last Thursdays episode (even though that doesn't make sence, does that mean he left Maxxie and James already?). But watching I haven't seen or heard a mention to Tony, you'd have thought with his whole family breaking down and splitting up, one of them would have atleast rang Tony and told him.

It seems like, everytime I see Effy's house, and someone is knocking on the door, I always wish Tony answers. But I know that will never happen because they don't want to bring back any of the first generation cast because they feel it would conflict with their "new audience".

Going on to Being Human, I love it, and it keeps getting better and better every week. I originally thought it would be a comedy (as thats how I perceived the trailers), and I was slightly disappointed and uninterested when the series started that it wasn't, but now I think it's one of my most wanted to watch on TV right now.

^The "cool" twin (I forget their names) said to Effy something like "Your brother went here didn't he? I heard he was hot, but he went mental didn't he?" or something along those lines.
I can't say I'm losing interest, I still like the show but I think both Cook and Effy are coming across as cunts at the minute. But I guess Effy at least has reason.

I've been loving Being Human too. I thought it was going to end up shit after hearing about the shift in tone, but I've got to the point where I can't wait for the next episode.

Oh yeah, I remember that. I don't really class it as a reference though because it's just like, trying to bridge the gap between the two characters Effy and Tony for those people who didn't watch the first generation of Skins.

^If you didn't see the first generation you wouldn't need it. Seemed like referencing for those who did watch, to me.

Ah well it could have been, I'd rather a reference like "Sid managed to meet up with Cassie", just somethings to tie the very loose ends of series 2.

Yeah, I'd like to know stuff like that too. But I guess unless there's some kind of Skins reunion episode 10 years down the line we'll never know.

I think they'll reintroduce the older characters in the next series, obviously not Anwar because he's a "big shot" now because of Slumdog Millionaire.

I don't know how they could feasibly resolve some of the last series' threads - Michelle and Tony are at best in a long distance relationship if anything; Jal, Maxxie and Anwar have no real reason to come back. Other than mentioning Sid and Cassie somehow - and I can't really see why or how - there's not much they can do.

So long as that crazy stalker Welsh girl Sketch doesn't come back it'll be fine.

The nice twin is Emily, Bob. Katie is the bitch.

Well I would like to know if Sid and Cassie do get back together, I hate films and TV series where they say "we'll let the viewer decide". NO. You do NOT let the viewer decide anything, you TELL US what happened. :(

I've seen these shows posted "around" and can someone give a quick summary of them? Are they worth checking out?

Yes they're both worth seeing.
Skins is about a group friends at 6th form college (17-18), it started off with 1 group 2 years ago, but after they graduated it switched to the new class who started. It's kinda hard to explain it's appeal, better if you just watch it.

Being Human is a flat sharing drama/comedy, about 3 20-somethings living together, one's a vampire, one's a werewolf and one's a ghost. The werewolf and vampire work at the local hospital, and the ghost makes a lot of tea.

Both are great shows if you give them a chance.

Being Human sounds like a comic I read about a girl living with a robot and an angel. Fun.

Does "skins" itself mean something?

I've watched the first 2 episodes of Being Human this week and quite enjoyed them. I'll stick with it, partly because there is a huge lack of British genre programming, and what there is is not up to this standard and I can't bring myself to watch them. Demons, Primeval I am looking at YOU. Doctor Who is about it really.

Pretty good effects, they've so knocked off the werewolf transformation from American Werewolf but it looks good. I know it didn't make you laugh so much bob but it cracked me up a number of times, and OK performances. George is better than the other 2 though I think, the girl is pretty lamentable in the acting department and the other vampire guy is acceptable.

Skins is a slang term for the cigarette paper you roll joints in.

It has cracked me up a few times now, but I only laughed once or twice in the first couple of episodes.

Just watched ep3, very good. It's really hitting it's stride now, I hope it gets another series.

They have a bit of a problem in that they keep getting guest actors who are better than the main cast, I speak of Tully, and 80s ghost who was hilarious. "You fascist dictator scumbags!"

George is the best of the main cast, but I like Annie, have since Sugar Rush, but I can see what you mean.

Being Human has been recommissioned for an 8 episode series.

From Digital Spy
BBC Three has commissioned a new eight-part series of supernatural drama Being Human.
The show, which follows a vampire, a werewolf and a ghost living in modern day Bristol, has achieved strong ratings since it premiered last month.
BBC Three controller Danny Cohen said of the series: "I'm thrilled that we are recommissioning Being Human. It's hugely popular with young viewers and [has] earned great critical acclaim at the same time. It's also a very improtant staging-post in the successful development of home-grown young drama on BBC Three."
Speaking of possible series two storylines, executive producer Rob Pursey said: "We already have some very exciting, very dark new stories up our sleeves."

I'm like two months late, but Jesus Christ... what the hell did they do after the pilot? :p
I almost wish I didn't watch it. I must say I like the original actors more, but I have no idea if that's just because I watched them first or if I just think that the original actors are better.
Between the original ghost and the girl from Sugar Rush, the original was just less... annoying.

And maybe it's just me, but if I were to sell the series, I'd call it a British Angel.
