Been Away From The Novels For A While - Suggestions?

I read the Pocket Trek novels regularly in the mid-to-late 1980s and enjoyed Diane Duane, Diane Carey, and a varied bunch of other authors not named Diane... It's been twenty years since I have read one and am curious to know if anyone has recommendations on which newer books are worth checking out. It doesn't matter which incarnation of Trek. Thanks!
