The BBC Trust have proposed that they freeze the TV Licence from increases for the next 2 years, while the settlement says they're entitled to a 2% increase each year and a freeze could cost them £144m extra income they've decided that given the economic circumstances a freeze would be a good move.
While this may be a good move to show they're willing to try and save money I think this might back-fire on them come the next settlement when they have to negotiate with the Tories for their income for the 10 years.
