BBC Survivors-2008

I just caught Survivors on Netflix. I have to say I really enjoyed the show. This was easily one of the better series (albeit short) shows I've seen in quite some time.
I'm a bit of a Walking Dead fan and I think Survivors out does Walking Dead.

I'm just wondering what everyone's take was on it, and anyone else disappointed the Beeb didn't give it a proper finale?

It took me a while to get in to it but thought it was great by the end. It's a shame they didn't do a third series. I seem to remember the third series was already planned when they decided not to renew it.

It did get a lot better and it's a shame it ended when it did. The second series did sort of end at a decent point
Abbey found her son and Max Beesely went off to take the virus and a hefy dose of vengence one imagines to the secret island where those who caused the plague were hidden

It could have carried on, but as endings go it probably got a better one than many cancelled shows get.

Julie Graham makes me swoon.

High concept, moments of genius but huge tracts of dull fulling up the bulk of the content.

I've been thinking of looking into the 1976 version of Survivors which I saw in line recently.

Such a long list of media to eat.

Is Julie Graham the Scottish one with the gappy teeth?

Max Beesley. MMmmmm. I would.

Yeah, wasn't keen on her in Survivors but she was quite hot as fake Sarah Jane...

I liked the blonde girl (predicatble I know...)

I enjoyed the show and was a bit miffed at where it ended. However, other shows have done worse.

I enjoyed the first Series, which I was watching on BBCA on Saturdays, then they switched it Tuesdays, where I couldn't catch it live, and my On Demand for Comcast dumped BBCA at the same time, so, I missed Series 2.

Yea, it definitely was similar to The Walking Dead, I wouldn't say better though. In The Walking Dead, you have not only the deaths of so many and dealing with the surviving humans not being particulary kind to each other, but, you also have the Zombie threat and the prevailing threat of an active infection.

I am interested in seeing Series 2 of Survivors at some point.

Oh Series 2 is far more intense than The Walking Dead right now. As you haven't seen it I won't give away spoilers...but let's say you have the drama of the Walking Dead taken to a new level.

(That said I am a Walking Dead fan...I just enjoyed Survivors a great deal)

I've only caught the first series, loved it. It's one of the reasons I stopped watching The Walking Dead--which was just boring in comparison to Survivors.
