Spoilers Batwoman - Season 1

What sort of magic surgery did she have that allowed her to get back to work immediately after 2 disc herniations?

I would guess they shot around her (with stand-ins), or if anything, only used her when she's sitting/talking. That's what happened during the production of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, when Harrison Ford--after performing a stunt--suffered a severely herniated spinal disc, and despite his efforts to continue working, had to be flown to a hospital for surgery while his stunt double (Vic Armstrong) stood in for him over the course of five weeks.

Considering the location of Rose's herniated disc, no doctor--and the studio's attorneys worth their pay (and concerned with insurance issues) would authorize her to go back to a normal routine so soon after a near-catastrophic injury.

Scary. Aside from, of course, the personal risk to Ruby Rose, it would've been terrible if a brand-new show had suddenly lost its star like that before it even premiered, and all the people involved in it had lost their jobs. I guess they could've tried recasting, but thank goodness they didn't have to.

It's hard to get a read on if she only had the surgery a couple of days ago despite the injury occurring two months ago or if she had the surgery shortly after the injury occurred and only posted the video of it two days ago.

If anyone is interested in this kind of stuff, she's actually posted a video of the surgery to to her Instagram. Obviously, it's not for the squeamish.
I'm surprised they went through the front of her throat like they did, I would think something like this would it would be easier to get at from the back, so you wouldn't have to worry about her esophagus (holy crap I actually spelled that right on my first try) or trachea.

Probably the one where we could all read this happened months ago and she actually took time to recover and NOT go back to work immediately.
