Okay, so I read this article, and... I can't bring myself to believe any of it is true. Movies based on board games? Seriously, what the fuck?
Reading my mind again, I see...
You know, considering that they turned Rubik's Cube into a Saturday morning cartoon, none of this should come as a surprise -- even turning Asteroids into a movie.
Link to this Rubik's Cube cartoon?
I can see Asteroids becoming a movie. It starts as a small craft clearing asteroids for navigation and quickly escalates into a cat-and-mouse, TWOK-style battle between our heroes and some evil/unidentified Alien saucers. That premise could work.
I am still waiting for Pac-Man the movie. It could be about a drug addict who is always taking little white pills, and hallucinates that ghost are after him.
That premise could also work.
If any boardgame is begging to be made into a Tim Burton movie, it needs to be Candyland.
Well, that would be one way to give the kids nightmares...
Tim Burton will make a dark and demented Candy Land.
Michael Bay will make a balls-to-the-wall nonstop action Axis & Allies.
The makers of Saw bring you... Operation.
Jim Carrey brings you more physical comedy in... Guesstures.
Ridley Scott makes yet another period piece war epic.... Stratego.
Pixar's latest money-printing release... Mouse Trap.
Nicolas Cage deciphers hidden words that are clues to a much bigger picture in... Scrabble.
Sure, do all of Hollyweird's work for them why don't you?
