For those who remember Robot Wars from the late 1990s and early 2000s, the tournament is once again back on television in the form of Battlebots.

I loved the original Battlebots, and really like the new version, but they tend to take it a little more seriously this time around. Regardless, I'm glad it's back, and it has FIRE!!!

Totally forgot it was on Sunday, I will have to catch it on the website. I enjoyed it when it was on Comedy Central.
 
No concept of weight classes in this one. Looks like they're just going for a short series instead of a summer-filling series like ANW.
 
Some of the veterans are back. Vlad the Impaler was a favorite of mine.

Wasn't the actor from Red Dwarf on a Britsh version?

As an android and firm supporter of AI rights, I'm appalled by this portrayal of robots as remorseless killing machines. If you look closely you can see it's actually HUMANS in control of these robots! Fact: No robot has ever murdered anyone without being forced to by a human. But of course Hollywood always portrays us as always malfunctioning and trying to end the human race. I don't know about you humans, but my AI function has a -4500000000 multiplier on the odds of destroying the world. Judging by all of human history, your multipliers are barely negative.
