when does this come out? ads for it have ceased. anyway, it would do better if they didn't look too... comical, i guess. it's quite a serious story but the character design detract from it. seems like something light hearted and comical, but it's not. it's like they are trying to appeal to children viewers when the story is a bit more serious than that.

I could probably live with the character designs, but yeah, the leader seemed like he stepped right out of Pixar, or Small Soldiers. Why do American CG characters always seem to look the same?

^No, but the whole "humans BAD! Hurt pretty things! Must stop evil human hurters!" bullshit is simplistic neo-Gaiaist propaganda.

Looks more like 'Humans are okay when they don't have a psycho 'kill them all!' leader driving them on.'

I just watched this film this evening -- in anticipation of Avatar on Friday. I must say, this is one of the best movies almost nobody has ever seen. It's beautiful -- both from a visual and storytelling standpoint. And it's not a mere cartoon, either. The story isn't "safe" and it really drives home the consequences of violence, even when violence is necessary.

This is easily one of the best films I've seen this year.

I also wish it weren't a cartoon. I can't get used to the way humans are drawn in that style of cartoon.
