Saw the 1015 show last night. I advise all comic book fans, DC and Marvel partisans alike, to ignore the critics and SEE THIS MOVIE!

Various writers (certainly not all of them) quibble about the motivations of Batman, Superman and Luthor, or various other plot elements and even technical issues. You have read the critiques. But do yourself a favor and let not the naysayers influence you to miss this epic adventure.

Snyder and the cast get so much exactly right. Ben Affleck is a worthy successor to Christian Bale as Batman. Ben's fight scenes, IMHO, are better than anything seen before. Snyder's fight scenes for Batman have an energy and ferocity not witnessed in the Nolan movies. And as many people have already said, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman is fearless and fantastic. You will wish there were many more scenes of her in action. See her now, folks. There are no females on the Marvel side who are nearly as great as Diana.

One thing did seem odd to me, regarding the public's view of Batman. He still scares the police and the media are against him. Batman has been around for 20 years and the world isn't used to him yet.

I thought it was a huge plot hole the way Lex Luthor was allowed such unrestricted access to Zod's ship which was still sitting in the middle of the city with minimal security.

I think this may be one of the best things to come from the movie.

Have to take issue with that. It was a main plot point, with several scenes establishing how Lex manuevered his way to access to the kryptonian remnants on Earth.
He talked Congress into giving it to Lexcorp, and when Holly Hunter's senator character was having second doubts and was going to back out, he blew up a room in the capital building to ensure continued access - using a victim of the battle in Metropolis as a cat's paw, and attempting to blame the thing on Superman.

It was already posted up-thread and it's hilarious. It's also gone viral it seems. Ben was one of the best things about the movie though, so that should make him happy.

That was one of what I termed "Geoff Johns' fingerprints" a few pages back. In the New 52, Batman operated as an "urban legend" for several years before he (and the other heroes) became public knowledge when the Justice League assembled. This seems like a very Johns thing to me.

It doesn't make a lot of sense here, frankly. Superman is clearly aware enough of Batman to threaten him if the Bat-Signal ever lights up. An urban legend Batman wouldn't be an urban legend if he has something as public as a Bat-Signal.

It might have been better to approach it as The Dark Knight Returns did -- Batman's known, but he's been gone for a few years, and now someone, maybe the same Batman, is operating in Gotham. Especially since Suicide Squad will show us a bunch of villains, some of whom have a history with a very-not-not-an-urban-legend Batman.

A number of critics have attacked BvS because, in their minds, superheroes like Batman and Superman should be able to talk things out and not try to kill each other. I want to see these arguments again in May when the Avengers turn against one another.

I just got back and really enjoyed the movie. It's become popular to shit on it so I kept waiting for something to be horrible. There wasn't anything.

One review I read said Wonder Woman's intro music was horrible - I actually liked it a lot and I assume it's her 'theme' and will be in her movie.

The intro to the rest of the JL wasn't as bad as others have said. There's a bit with who I think is Flash in a weird sequence and it seems to be a dream within a dream - I also could not understand what he was saying at all.

Affleck does a great job. He should be proud. Great choice.

The BvS fight was very cool. I imagine Superman fans might be a little put out, though.

Their mothers having identical names - how did I miss that this whole time? jeez. I totally bought it as the thing that flips Batman to Superman's side, though. Great line, too..."I'm a friend of your son's."

I wish Wonder Woman's film had come out first so we could buy into her isolation from the rest of humanity more easily.

Glossed over in the movie is that Lex apparently knows Bruce Wayne is Batman and Clark Kent is Superman.

I'm pretty sure this will be my reaction too.

I really like Snyder as a director, and yeah at times I let my Marvel bias show, but I shouldn't restrict my interests to one set of characters just because I consider myself a "Marvel fanboy." I'm ready to enter this Universe that by all accounts is going to be a tad darker than the Marvel one we've followed for the last 8 years.

Spoilers...
I would have preferred this film divided into two - the first part ending with the appearance of Doomsday. The second could have been the whole Death of Superman story on its own. Many interesting parts and elements to this film.
One could argue that the death wasn't given the attention it needed but I don't think that there's enough material there for a movie on its own.

He was warning Bruce about Superman and saying that he was right about him.

I don't think Superman was named specifically, as I recall both the him and her in "save her" were left vague.

Will have to pay closer attention next time, I was distracted by how great the Flash effects looked :D

I've seen quite a few friends on Facebook saying things like 'why are superman and batman fighting? Shouldn't they be on the same side?' To which I keep saying (a) see the film. You won't know why until you see it (but any intelligent reading of the trailers should tip you off) and (b) it's quite a common plot line in comics for superheroes to clash on their first meeting, before uniting against a common foe.

I knew that Eisenberg was universally panned and I went in looking to see what the deal was but I didn't have a problem with him. I did end up agreeing with some of the criticisms though. Largely that it's not edited well and doesn't flow nicely.

It felt like the filmmakers were too impatient to develop the story slowly over a couple of films.
Makes it even funnier when I hear people complain about these movies laying railroad tracks for future installments.

Not everything needs to be explained; that's what headcanons and tie-in material are for!

I'm looking at the cast list at the IMDb and I see that Michael Cassidy is credited as Jimmy Olsen and Emily Peterson as Lana. I didn't notice either of them in the movie.

I also found another bit of news. Maybe it's been discussed already but I've never seen it.

Whoa! Another Superhero Might Be Hidden In ‘Batman v Superman’

Jimmy was the photographer that went with Lois to Africa. He was the guy executed after they discovered that device in his camera.

I think Lana was in the background at the diner that Martha Kent worked at.
