Batman: Arkham Asylum IS AWESOME, buy it now

Thanks for the info. I probably won't even try them. You see, I absolutely hate hand-to-hand combat style games. (In fact, I gave up on the demo early on because I was turned off by the combat. Fortunately I listened to people here and played the demo further and realized it was a much deeper game than that.) Anyway I just don't have any desire to play those challenge rooms. The predator ones on the other hand, l could have some fun with.

Yeah the predator ones are a lot of fun. And I did play some of the combat ones as well, I'm just not that great at combos which is why my scores suck.

That's my problem, trying to hit the right buttons in the right order, is why I don't like combat games much. I'm just not good at it, therefore it's not much fun for me.

Just found all of the riddles and I have the last clue for the Arkum spirit and then all to do will be the challenges.

^ I don't usually have a problem getting over 10, but I find getting up to 20 quite hard. I did manage a 29 hit combo once.

I managed to get a twenty, but I had help. I was 'riding' one of the Toxin fuelled thugs, surrounded by the normal kind, and managed to steer him so he kept hitting them.

Once you get the hang of the combo system, it's a snap.

Take it from me, I was struggling like hell to get the 40 combo to get the achievement and bitching about it the whole way. Now, I can clear just about any room in 1 long free flow combo. I think my best was like 70 before running out of guys.

The key to high combos is that you should only strike, counter, cape stun and only evade when absolutely necessary. You're allowed one evade roll, as long as you strike immediately upon coming out of it. In rooms with a large number of goons, it's not terribly hard to get combos of 20-30+.

A lot of people also need to realize it's not a button masher.

^ That's true. My fighting skill has shown a small but significant because I stopped jabbing away at the buttons, slowed down, and started paying attention to what was going on.

Heh, yeah... That was really my problem. Then a friend was like, "You suck at this game, let me show you why." Now I'm generally getting around 20-25, and I think I'll continue to get better. I have a tendency to allow Batman to be surrounded, which is no good.

Never hit attack without aiming for someone.

Thumbstick at a thug, press attack, just always aim then attack and it's easy.

Save the takedowns for the knife wielders and taser dudes so you can take them out of the picture without breaking combo or getting hit.

Got 38 out of 47 achievments now...

Done the 16 Predator medals achievement but won't bother with the 24 one. I will go for 8 combat one and then probably re do game on harder difficulties ending in the 40's for achievements.

To get 100% complete do you need to get all medals or just basically complete all challenge modes?

I got all the riddles which is good enough for me. Regardless. Great game all around.

Next up ODST
