Batman: Arkham 3

... and we have an official teaser.

This tells us next to nothing about the game play or graphics as it's obvious that this is cgi and not in engine footage.

does anyone know how to embed a yt link?

There was a very impressive write up about this game in last month's GameInformer. Did anyone see it? The digital version I saw on my iPad left me feeling a little better about WB Montreal. They actually built this studio to make this game.

I can't post attachments? I'd like to post some pics from Game Informer Digital, but I guess I can't. They really did a great write up on Batman Arkham Origins and WB Montreal. I've gone from high skepticism to cautious optimism about this game. If you can get your hands on it, I'd recommend it.

You can put images in posts by clicking the Insert Image button
insertimage.gif
and providing the address of the image. However, the images you post have to be hosted on your own space (unless the website explicitly allows hotlinking). So you can either copy those images to your own webspace, an image hosting website (such as Photobucket or ImageShack), or in your TrekBBS album (click User CP, and under Networking click on "Pictures and Albums" to get started).

Thanks to Chris 3123!!

WB has stated that Roger Craig Smith will be voicing Batman, and Troy Baker (Robin in AC) will be voicing Joker.

This is interesting given Conroy explicitly stating that he had been working on "the next Arkham" for about 10 months. Hmm...

And here's the full trailer for AO:

Also:

Other villains confirmed to appear in the game are Anarky, who appears to be filling the "Riddler" role from previous games, and Bane (not pictured) who is said to be "more like the comics."

In addition WB Games Montreal revealed a new gameplay mechanic that allows players to recreate crimes at the scene with the ability to pause, fast-forward, and rewind. Another new detail is that while "Origins" takes place several years before the previous Arkham games, there's a five year span between "Arkham Asylum" and "Arkham City," leaving plenty of potential room to explore in the future.

That was a long trailer. I feel better about this game now. For some reason in my head I was envision "Arkham Origins" to be more like the origin of Batman, which I now realize doesn't make too much sense.

Arkham Origins will be demoed live at E3 tomorrow, starting at 10:40AM PST.

I will be watching via Gamespot, but there are other places to watch the stream too.

ETA: Here's the E3 trailer.

In case you missed the live stream, here's the full Arkham Origins presentation from E3 earlier today (PS3 version):

That was awesome. The more I see, the more excited I get.

It makes me wonder, though, about this whole Gotham open world that these games have created. With all the characters in the Batman universe, both good guys and bad guys, there could potentially be an unlimited number of downloadable missions, like "Harley's Revenge" in Arkham City.

Based on what I'm seeing, it looks like WB is definitely respecting the earlier Arkham games. If this turns out to be a good game, I'd feel comfortable with them continuing the series instead of Rocksteady.

A new trailer was shown at Comic-Con today, revealing another one of Black mask's assassins: Copperhead. This version of the character is female, as opposed to the traditional male Copperhead. Geoff Johns has said that this female version of the character will be added to the comics.

Also announced at SDCC were some of the alternate character skins:

Eric Holmes, creative director for WB Games Montreal, also showed off new skins that will be available for Batman in the game. These included one from the Classic 1960s TV series, Knightfall, Deathstroke - who will be a playable character in the challenges for those the preorder the game, Batman One Million - a very futuristic take on the hero based on Grant Morrison art, and Worst Nightmare - a savage, horrific look at Bats that was characterized as a ‘hardcore unlock,’ meaning that it only becomes available very late in the game. Holmes said more skins will be revealed via Twitter (@ericholmeslive) in the near future.

And there will no Robin in the game, though a Batgirl appearance was hinted at.

Conroy seems to have confirmed another Arkham title. My suspicion of WB annualizing the Arkham series seems to have some legs!!

http://m.ign.com/articles/2013/05/21/kevin-conroy-continues-arkham-confusion

Quote from Kevin Conroy:

"Confusion in Dallas! I am in new ARKHAM GAME coming soon, NOT ARKHAM ORIGINS coming this fall."

Now that there's been an Arkham DTV announced for 2014 (featuring the game 'take' on the universe) I'm wondering if this is where the confusion has come from.
