As I was layering on my moisturizers this morning in the semi-arid high elevation in which I live, I started thinking about how amazing Vulcan moisturizers must be (as one does :)). T’Pol has amazing skin so she probably takes amazing care of it. No doubt Vulcan skin is adapted to the Vulcan climate but it isn’t improbable that Vulcans, like desert-dwelling humans, also took notice of oils and plant extracts found in the nature around them to protect their skin from the environment.

So, if you were to find yourself at the DS9 Promenade version of Sephora, what would you be excited to find? I’d definitely be purchasing some Vulcan moisturizer myself and probably some Andorian moisturizer too because the cold can be just as brutal on skin.

As I recall, a skin moisturizer is mentioned in the novel, The Vulcan Academy Murders.

From the first page of Chapter 24:
Kirk had gotten burned the previous day, fighting a fire at the Academy, and woke up not remembering going to bed.
A couple of snips with small, sharp scissors, and the scorched hairs were gone. There was an odorless skin oil labeled, "Recommended for Humans, Lemnorians, and Andorians; nontoxic to Vulcans," which he slathered over the burned areas of his skin, and was surprised to see it soaked right up. Perhaps he should have been using it every day in this climate. Sure enough, the fine print told him it contained a powerful sunscreen; he must remember to tell McCoy about it.
