Barbie fan rips Trek Convention goers

Whether she was serious or not... I agree with her. Collecting Barbies isn't nearly as strange as going to a Star Trek convention.

Maybe if someone did Barbie and Ken up in Star Trek costumes (paying due attention to licensing issues of course) and sold them for enormous prices, they would see the light.

On the other hand, so people go to Barbie conventions dressed as their favorite dolls? I'm confused now.

I'm sure it's a LOT harder to dress up like a Barbie than a Star Trek character...most people don't have those...uhhhhh...proportions!

Anyway, I'm sure this Trekkiephobe in the interview will be the first in line to buy the new Star Trek Barbies...probably pulling hair and getting into a catfight at ToysRUs to get it too!

The beeotch.

Mattel already did that to commemorate TOS's 30th Anniversary. The set has Barbie in a red miniskirt uniform and Ken in Command gold.

And yes, I do indeed have the set, still in the original packaging. :alienblush::lol:

I should have guessed they had already made the connection. This shows what I get for not having explored the Barbieverse.

^^^Remember, if it's something you like, it's joy and innocent recreation. If it's something you're not interested in, it's wierd and perverted.

...and often addictive apparently. They must be addicted if I don't like what they are doing....

As a matter of fact, there HAVE been Star Trek Barbie and Ken dolls, and apparently there are new ones coming out for the new movie. I've never posted a link here before, so let's see if this works...

Gah. I don't like it when someone has to knock another fandom, either. I don't much care for the nuBSG, for example, but if other people enjoy it, more power to them. I don't see the need to start hypocritically bashing other people's hobbies.

Anyway, is knowing trivia about sporting matches going back to the 1930s, and dressing up in team colours, and stuff like that, any better than being a Trekkie, really? I don't think so.

Yeah!!!

To each their own. Whatever floats their starship...err...boat!

That's what I say.

I only have negative things to say about boring chit.

That's my beef.

I can tolerate almost any entertainment sin: except boredom.

Being boring is unforgiveable.
