Bakula (Trip?) In final Desperate Housewives eps.

ALF

I feel that it is my duty as an Enterprise fan to report that tonight Scott Bakula was on Desperate Housewives, a series with a mere three episodes left. I get the impression the series will end with Bakula offering a major role in the story.

The really noteworthy tidbit here is that there was actually a reference to Enterprise, which I couldn't believe. When Bree meets him, his character (can't remember his name) tells her offhand to call him "Trip." It was very brief and more than likely completely lost on 99% of the audience.

I can't recall a positive reference to Enterprise among other TV shows in recent memory.

^ Interesting. I knew he was on DH but wouldn't have expected an ENT reference.

DH has a bit of a Trek connection. VOY graduates Robert Duncan McNeill and Roxanne Dawson have directed episodes. Bree's first husband was played by Steven Culp, who was Major Hayes in ENT. Teri Hatcher has been in TNG. The actor who played Archer's father in Broken Bow has had a recurring role in the show.

When Bakula appeared on Boston Legal, I was hoping that him and Shat would have some Trek-referencing conversation ('Childhood hero my ass' or the like) - after all, there was a show that was forever breaking the fourth wall. But no such luck!

Don't forget Alfre Woodard!

I felt it was just a weird coincidence.

Trip is a common abbreviation of "The Third"

Half hearted really?

If he was going to slip in a trip, why not a Charles Tucker?

"Sigh"

Although if it was an Adlib, he might not have even told the "director" what he was doing.

Doh, I knew I was overlooking someone! :alienblush:

I also read somewhere that Felicity Huffman once auditioned for, but failed to land a leading Trek role. She didn't say which it was but my best-guess would be either Janeway or Kira. Anyone else ever heard this?

And if I'm not mistaken, David Goodman, who wrote for Ent, wrote for DH too, at least the first few seasons.
