In one episode of Seinfeld, George used the restroom in a book store. He took a book in with him. When he came out, the manager greeted him and forced him to buy the book. He spent the rest of the episode trying to return the book. They refused as the book had been "flagged."

I’m personally not a huge fan of naming ships, or anything really, after people, which is deeply ironic given my favorite real world ships are Great Lakes freighters that do this. Generally speaking naming stuff after people only seem to end badly, eventually. Probably because humans are complex, and often terrible.
So USS Katherine Pulaski is a pretty bad name, and USS Nathan Bedford Forrest or USS Quantrill would be pretty heinous.
If you don’t go that route, there’s always the option of naming something in a minority Earth language, like Welsh, or after concepts which aren’t present even in other Earth cultures much less easy to explain to outsiders. Good luck even translating USS Frunchroom! I didn’t know that word until earlier today...
