Bad K'Ehleyr

Oh dear, I seemed to have "over lunched" ~ went out with an ex colleageu, colleaugue, college.. oh fish, some one I used to work with, who fed me far too much wine and came home for Pimms with my poorly neighbough (I have done something good today) I've broken the TV, I keep tripping over imaginary objects and I have no idea how all that washing up got in the sink.

Now I have too rapiply sober up before Man comes round so I can beat him at a board game and pretend that all is well.

Pleawse tell me this has happened to others.

Not of late, but I have had many similar experiences. As have many others here, I'd say. Still - if you can carry off the intoxifamacation with panache (stay sitting down. This is essential!), all will be well.

Oh - and...

I've had a few work lunches that have morphed into 'what the hell, let's take the afternoon off'. Very unprofessional :vulcan: Alcohol was usually at root of it; occasionally hormones :)

Long lunches, with lots of liquid, are a lovely louche luxury.

K'Ehleyr, don't try saying that out loud until later.

Aren't you still on company time even if you are on a lunch break? I don't understand why people would drink alcohol during their lunch knowing they have to be right back at work???

Maybe I misunderstood the situation. :(

A 'two drink' lunch used to be required for some businesses. At least, business practices.

:guffaw:Just woken up from a little nap having decided 'prone' was the way to be :techman:
The washing up fairy has been :bolian:
And Man just looked at me when I came round and said 'You had a good time with B then?' Love the Man :adore:

"It was sunny, M'lord" that's my defence :guffaw:

I have just one thing to say: bad K'Ehleyr is the best K'Ehleyr. ;)

"When I'm good I'm very, very good, but when I'm bad I'm better" (MW) *strolls off shaking her booty at Igii, tosses her hair and ;)*

I once blacked out in Portland and lost my hat.

:guffaw::guffaw::guffaw:
Son is looking over my shoulder and says 'you are a legend' and plans to follow in your footsteps  He may well find your hat?!

I just managed to say "I was sitting outside with Sue in the Sun". Son said I just sounded like a snake

Broken the TV?! :(

It would not work ~ I may well have been trying to use my mobile phone to 'make it so' thou

Is my day off. I never book a lunch with B if I have anything to do for the rest of the day... Like pay the guy who fixed my car. Missed him ~ then obviously it's free :D

I never understood it either, Jetfire. In Hollywood it was the norm... perhaps that is why I never really fit in. Where I live now, people would never consider it proper. In fact, it would probably get you fired.

At least I had my clothes on when I awoke face down on the pavement in Hadleigh, Suffolk (this was prior to the installation of surveillance cameras in the UK) Too much pub crawling can be bad...

Some places the employees are "on the clock" for meal breaks, some places you aren't. When you aren't, it's none of the employer's business what you do on break, as long as you're in place and ready to work (sober) when the break is over. Of course if you drink alcohol during a half hour or even full hour break you aren't going to be completely sober when you get back to work.

Sometimes, being tipsy is the only way to deal with work. Or at least, the only sane way. This is especially true for prolonged, useless meetings about menial crap, and (in my case) interminable, droning lectures delivered in monotone by old professors with terrible diction on topics you aren't interested in the slightest, but you are expected to attend due to departmental politeness.

Also, I wrote some of the best code in my life after a good glass of wine, so... :D

Most people's jobs don't require total sobriety. That's been my modus operandi since leaving university (unsteadily).

Reminded me of this XKCD
