Personally, I've always had a problem with those weird short neckties that the rich people wore in Past Tense. WTF were they thinking with those?

And there's the main issue with the whole enterprise, anyway. When shows try to predict future fashion, it's always one of three things: 1) shiny and metallic, 2) laughably stupid looking, or 3) shiny, metallic and laughably stupid looking.

This is actually the reason I liked TOS’s uniforms: they are simple enough to be timeless, I could imagine someone wearing something similar in the 20th century or the 40th.

Funny how watching TOS in the 90s we all thought it looked so dated and TNG would hold up for quite some time.

Now TNG looks hopelessly dated and TOS has a timeless simplicity to it.

Well, the two piece TNG uniforms from the latest seasons still hold up IMHO. The early days jumpsuits, on the other hand...

Everything is always "of its time." DS9 and Voyager also have a distinctive 90s style to them. Enterprise is certainly a reflection of early 2000s, and I'm sure twenty years from now we'll be commenting on how dated Disco, Picard and Lower Decks are.

I'm kind of the opposite on two things. Part of me really likes that the Enterprise-D was still going in AGT, even with all the accessories shoved on the hull, and she had the cloaking device and phase-disruptor cannon. I sort of hope the Enterprise-E inherited that future and is still going in Picard's present or at least was recently retired rather than being another destroyed Enterprise. The other thing was having B4 still in tact in Countdown, the novels and Online (some reprogrammed with Data and some not). I get the reasoning for it but something still feels a bit off with both B4 and Lore both disassembled and shoved in boxes somewhere.

AGT – important to remember that the crew drifted apart in the timeline that Troi died. And they don’t seem to be in conflict with any Remans or plot to replace Picard with a clone. Whereas in the current timeline, they drifted apart because they all moved on to other assignments after the events of Nemesis. And the Federation doesn’t seem to be in conflict with the Klingons in the current timeline.

The Visitor – Jake needed to end his own life to bring back Sisko. Whereas in the current timeline Jake doesn’t have to, since Sisko is supposed to return someday. There is no word if he has or hasn’t though. The preference as to which future if preferred depends if you value Sisko at the cost of the Dominion War, gassing of the Maquis colony, and the loss of Jadzia, but the gain of Ezri. Or Jadzia at the cost of Sisko and no Ezri Tigan in sight, but the benefit of there being no Dominion War, and no gassing of the Maquis colony.

B&A, Timeless, Endgame - Harry Kim just needed Janeway out of the way to get promoted. And Janeway’s decisions seem to have always resulted in someone’s death, including hers. And the Borg still remained a threat to the Alpha Quadrant in all three timelines. In the current timeline, Janeway’s an admiral (meaning Harry should have been promoted by now), everyone survived, and the Borg aren’t a threat anymore.

The current timeline is good for the VOY crew, but worse for the original DS9 crew. TNG seems to be in the middle.
