Spoilers Bad Batch Season 3 - February 21st

Ventress lives. Didn't see that one coming. And they claim they aren't just retconning Dark Disciple. Hmm. Very curious here.

But there is now the potential for a Ventress and Vos reunion. Please lord, somebody make this a thing in the near future. My life needs more Quinlan Vos, and more Ventress is never a bad thing.

I don't expect it will ever happen, but a live action Avengers-esque team up between Ventress, Cal Kestis, Ahsoka and Luke would so totally be worth watching. Also, I feel like the universe is kind of begging for a Ventress vs Maul fight at some point. So many possibilities.

Also; anyone else notice the release date of the finale? How much do we want to bet this is all being timed to coincide some other showcase a few days later?
I was going to make a comment about them not working the schedule to withhold the finale a few days for May 4. But I guess it makes sense they might have something else bigger planned for that day.

ETA: am I the only one wondering why the trailer dropped so many cameo glimpses, especially one as fandom shaking as Ventress?
Either marketing is blowing almost a whole season's worth of surprises for the sake of building hype (and driving D+ resubs), or all of this happens early in the season and there's something way more surprising still under wraps.

The first option is far from impossible, but to date LF/Disney marketing have been pretty good about not spoiling anything crazy in the teasers or main trailers. It's only when the TV spots star popping up that they start drip-feeding more new footage that is necessarily ideal (and this why I long since tried to avoid them.) The aftermath of the strikes and the decline in streaming subs may have overridden that policy of course, but we'll see.
So if not that, then what the hell else could be going on? Could the reason they're spoiling Ventress now be that she shows up in the three episode premier, and will recur throughout the season? Would certainly be weird to do something as major as this for a one-and-done AND spoil it in the trailer.

I guess the most likely possible "surprise" kept out of the trailer could be Boba (because: "Alpha") and especially so with Bane back in the mix again.

Yeah, they tend to like to use it to kick something off rather that wrap it up, since that's when it's most important to have as many eyes as possible on it.
Timing the finale to within a few days seems like they're trying to use fan engagement efficiently by letting the finale ride the wave of Mt4 anticipation, without being too close that it and whatever may drop next don't step one each other.

As for what it could be, (aside from the usual merch announcements/promotions) the more likely candidates are a trailer of some sort for 'The Acolyte', literally anything more about 'Skeleton Crew', and/or some more material on 'Outlaws', or a trailer for 'TotJ season 2'. There may be some more clarification on the various movies in the pipeline or clarification on the status of Mando season 4 (though I rather expect that much sooner than May), but I wouldn't expect anything more substantial that some marketing copy and maybe some stills for any of those.

Andor season 2 seems too far off at this point, so I'd be surprised if they do anything except maybe a token bit of marketing, like a look back for season 1 isn't impossible. It feel like it's been a while since anything solid has been said of the 'Lando' project so while I'm not holding my breath.

Finally there's the unknown wildcard of an as of yet unannounced new project, like say the an animated show to replace 'Bad Batch'; something set in the 'High Republic' as a more grown up stablemate of YJA seems the more likely option, but a post ROtJ OT cast show isn't out of the question and would be a handy way to side-step the question of recasting since finding voice actors to fill the role is an easier challenge than live action (plus they've already done it more that once.)

I'm going to go out on a limb however and propose that they just might simply drop the 'Ahsoka' BtS doc (assuming they're producing one) day of without warning.
A glowing pool.. .. something something lazuraus pit something ..
Well they did establish that same exact magik pool in the show . . . and the water of life, and then there's this whole thing, and this . . . and that doesn't even include that business with the zombies. Suffice to say, it should be surprising NOT to see a body that was buried on Dathomir come back to life sooner or later.

(I figured since she is in this season it was a good place to post it idk)

Since the whole Ventress thing is still bothering me (not that she's alive or on the show, just why something so major it was revealed in the trailer) here's some totally unfounded and wild speculation that's probably wrong but would be really cool: what if in lieu of a replacement series for 'Bad Batch', they're adapting 'Dark Disciple' as miniseries, or direct to streaming animated movie in the TCW/BB/TotJ style, and that's the (also unfounded speculation) May 4th announcement? If so, then this could be a semi-long game for the promotion. Get old fans talking about the character again, familiarise the new fans with her (which could amount to all of 5 mins in the first few episodes) and then drop her trailer three days after the finale.

IIRC the originally planned arc(s) spanned 8 episodes. At 22mins each that's plenty of material for a trilogy of one hour episodes, or a pair of 90min animated movies (and the story does have a time-jump at about the half-way point!) And if we what to speculate especially greedily, maybe for the sake of cost effective efficient, they also commissioned 'Son of Dathomir'? Dathomir is big these days and these two stories make for an appropriate set of stories.

Probably not even close to what's going on there, but again; cool if true!

Gotta ruin Ventress too, Filoni? The man is a menace, even dead characters can get ruined by him. I bet its going to be the brat who beats Ventress, probably with some kids cartoon BS (a bunch of marbles making Ventress slide over a cliff, or maybe a space banana peel left in a spot to make her trip into a space ship engine). At least its almost over. Well, until Filoni inevitably casts an adult version of the female clone to ruin one of the upcoming live action shows (or maybe the announced Mandalorian movie).

By the Mandalorian era, Omega would be in her 40s (same as Boba). Boba has the excuse of being through the Sarlacc and Tatooine suns for years to look older than he actually is.

And after The Bad Batch started, people were speculating that they or at least Omega would show up in the Mando era shows. But it is logical to not have them show up there until the Bad Batch series ends, as to not write one's self into a corner for that series.

I'm hoping she survives and makes an appearance as an adult in one of the other Star Wars shows.

Since the end of the second season, I've had the sneaky suspicion that the reason they specifically cast Keisha Castle-Hughes as the voice of Omega's "sister clone", is that they might be positioning her for a Mando-era live action appearance for Omega at some point. She's not the exact right age but close enough, and she has enough of a resemblance to Temura to get away with it.
